It's not easy to know ... (😉) that I'm a very new student of musical theatre, battling in one of the most competitive industries out there. Despite being a performer most of my life in one way or another, 01 July 2019 marked the first day I decided to go full-time and see if I could make a career out of something that has been my passion for decades.
I'm not scared to admit that I am untrained, and at a huge disadvantage than the theatre kids and stage school grads. I'm getting on a bit at 33, and I only started dance training a few years back, but just like this song says there is a fire in my eyes and I'm prepared to fight more than just a little! I'm not expecting to be a West End star, in fact the end goal is not to become famous. It's to be performing, just enough, to not be broke and never have to ask for help. So this is a work in a progress but I'm happy to share my journey if you want to listen 🙂
Inspired by the fabulous @lukasings video, I thought I'd share some of the ways I've been putting the great lessons and tools that @musicaltj and @singtheatre have been doing with me and all the fabulous students of #Showstoppers . Special mention to @scottharrisonuk for helping me find my inner wail!
