What a great 2018. I find reflecting on the past year gives me stoke to work hard for another year. It sometimes feels like I’m not getting anywhere or doing much in the moment, but then I look up after having my nose down and working hard for a while and it is encouraging to see how far I was able to get. Here are some of the highlights I’m excited about from 2018. ***My channel went from 1000ish subscribers on youtube to just passing 6,000 before end of year on HowNOTtoHighline
If I count fb and youtube views I have a million views overall on over 100 videos which felt like an unrealistic goal, but somehow I got there.
***I wrote the Bolting Bible and have begun the video series for it
***Started SlackSnap with my van and just finished designing and building SlackSnap2.0 which is an official break test machine. I have done 200 break tests already and plan to do another 1000 break tests to further our slack knowledge.
***Our wedding went viral 3x and has an accumulated minimum of 200,000,000 views across all platforms that shared it. ***Traveled a bunch, these being our biggest trips. ***Belize with Andy Lewis and Aleta French ***France and visited Pablo Signoret, Friedi Kühne, Ugo Capozzoli, Jules Camps, Yacine Oo, Gaelle Joubert and slack house. ***Breathe Festival with Scott Balcom, ***Burning Man with Scott Hong, Michael Melner, Garrison Rowland, Laura Riccardelli, Kiley Hartigan, Melissa Brady, and SF crew/Booty Worship. ***Rigged LAS triple and biggest Yosemite line with Friedi and Lukas Irmler and Kyle Lovett and Zee Mounkey ***GGBY of course :)
***Was a coordinator for GGBY Highline Gathering and got to be a part of behind the scenes of a 500+ person festival with my buddy Dan Walsh as our fearless leader and the biggest project I have done with Jerry Miszewski who I learned so much of my highlining from back in the day.
***Felt like our house was a true slack house having several slackers live with us for a few weeks. Kyle Lovett, Robert Yuwiler, Friedi Kühne, Zee Mounkey, Cameron Laurence Nelson, Lukas Irmler.
***A photo I took of Kim ended up as a full spread in an award winning book “What We Keep” by best selling - 9 months ago
