Wow! 10,000 subscribers on youtube is a big milestone. Only 2% of channels have this and is the equivalent of 50k or 100k Instagram followers as the average engagement time i have is over 7 minutes per view. Took 3 years but is a fun hobby making videos and doing science experiments. We have a lot more different content coming out soon because we are way too stoked over here! 😁

Perspective is a funny thing. This is the Jeffery Mine in Asbestos, Quebec.  I betcha you cant guess what they use to mine here! Some people see this place as a negative thing, a hazardous material site with a now failing local economy. But yesterday i was so full of joy being here, standing in exposure on the "short" 55m highlines here watching my friends walk across a 1.25 mile or 2km long highline. The sunset right now is majestic, the abundant birds of prey always dancing, the water crystal blue, i hear hundreds of local people enjoying the evening and the live music is bumping while i watch @lukasirmler do what he does best. Spending a week with the @lesfunambulesmodernes team has been meaningful. Helping rig a huge highline as opened my mind to what is possible. My paradigm of this place is of beauty and meaningingful relationships.  How many other things can be looked at in 2 different ways in our lives? Situations, feelings, opportunities… I plan on trying to look at things from a more positive perspective because life has a lot of beauty and meaning in it.

Life is full of twists and turns..highs and lows..beginnings and endings. I’ve been blessed to share those experiences with an amazing group of friends and family. Whether they’ve stayed around for years, or come in to my life and gone quickly, I’ll carry the love and lessons they’ve shared with me through my lifetime.
For the past 4 years, I’ve shared a majority of those amazing experiences with Kim. I’m forever grateful for all the love and lessons our relationship taught me. I am a smarter and more caring person because of our relationship. It taught me to be a better man. In January of this year, Kim & I discovered that our dreams were traveling in different directions, and we made the decision to separate. The decision was the right one, but it has been a difficult and painful journey as we navigate a new relationship & embark on new lives without one another. My slack family is a group of the most understanding & caring group of people I know, and they have been wonderful to me as I have leaned on them while grieving the dreams I had for my marriage.
I’m sharing this with all of you because my highline & other adventure photos are a huge part of my life, but they don’t show the story of my pain. So many times we see the outside layer of another’s life and feel alone in our suffering. I want to share with you that no one suffers alone. If you’re also experiencing tough times, whether it is heartbreak or another setback, remember that it gets better. One day at a time, one step at a time. Keep your chin up & surround yourself with good, loving people. The last 8 months have been among the hardest I’ve experienced, but I’ve emerged feeling stronger and more hopeful than ever. Big things are coming, so stay tuned!

I've always wanted to BBQ on a big wall. I hauled this bbq, filet mignon, and a bottle of #barefootwine up part of #elcapitan and enjoyed a sunset with my friend @thevagabondpt. Perfect weather to sleep up there.

Hey universe! Can someone help me wrap up my BoltBuster design. The sister of slacksnap. We are trying to break hundreds of bolts for science! I need to learn the hoses, hand pump options, connectors are proving to be real tough as this hollow ram cylinder has a giant male connector. Please let me know if you know lots about this stuff and where i can get these parts. It cant be that hard! Cheers :)

Got 1200 ft of amsteel today. Posing on my new rodeo line made entirely of soft shackles! I always use this stuff so i got lots. If you want to make soft shackles or other goodies, stop by and you can buy only what you need (really cheap per foot) and make your softies here on the slacksnap machine. Loving the #slacklife

Home from Brazil with new friends and finally a 100 METER PR! Went to @gravatation and made lots of friends and saw old ones. Interview with @vidalhighline is coming out on @hownottohighline soon. Got to see @isadorabertoli again. Met @matheus_waeny after being friends for a year online and went to Chapada where i got my new longest line of 100 meters above a water fall after dreaming of it for 13 years. @festivalchooselife is going to be in June and i highly recommend it. Now its time to go crush Yosemite for the year!

What a great 2018. I find reflecting on the past year gives me stoke to work hard for another year. It sometimes feels like I’m not getting anywhere or doing much in the moment, but then I look up after having my nose down and working hard for a while and it is encouraging to see how far I was able to get. Here are some of the highlights I’m excited about from 2018. ***My channel went from 1000ish subscribers on youtube to just passing 6,000 before end of year on HowNOTtoHighline
If I count fb and youtube views I have a million views overall on over 100 videos which felt like an unrealistic goal, but somehow I got there.
***I wrote the Bolting Bible and have begun the video series for it
***Started SlackSnap with my van and just finished designing and building SlackSnap2.0 which is an official break test machine. I have done 200 break tests already and plan to do another 1000 break tests to further our slack knowledge.
***Our wedding went viral 3x and has an accumulated minimum of 200,000,000 views across all platforms that shared it. ***Traveled a bunch, these being our biggest trips. ***Belize with Andy Lewis and Aleta French ***France and visited Pablo Signoret, Friedi Kühne, Ugo Capozzoli, Jules Camps, Yacine Oo, Gaelle Joubert and slack house. ***Breathe Festival with Scott Balcom, ***Burning Man with Scott Hong, Michael Melner, Garrison Rowland, Laura Riccardelli, Kiley Hartigan, Melissa Brady, and SF crew/Booty Worship. ***Rigged LAS triple and biggest Yosemite line with Friedi and Lukas Irmler and Kyle Lovett and Zee Mounkey ***GGBY of course :)
***Was a coordinator for GGBY Highline Gathering and got to be a part of behind the scenes of a 500+ person festival with my buddy Dan Walsh as our fearless leader and the biggest project I have done with Jerry Miszewski who I learned so much of my highlining from back in the day.
***Felt like our house was a true slack house having several slackers live with us for a few weeks. Kyle Lovett, Robert Yuwiler, Friedi Kühne, Zee Mounkey, Cameron Laurence Nelson, Lukas Irmler.
***A photo I took of Kim ended up as a full spread in an award winning book “What We Keep” by best selling

It has been great projecting this last week with these 2 guys. @friedikuehne and @lukasirmler really inspire me to try harder and push myself. I think they have "natural talent" but they also work super hard on their skills and that is why they are some of the best slackers in the world. Take your gifts and add hard work to them and you can soar!

@friedikuehne and @lukasirmler racing towards the anchor. The 960 foot taft line is so epic with so much exposure. They both sent the line and @yuwild_er did to today. Im so proud of @theslackgoddess because she not only crossed a line she couldnt even stand on 3 or 4 years ago when we rigged it with @slackinjer, she fully crossed both ways in one session! What a great trip.
