Hi it’s me and I have a couple (2) things on my mind that I want to share.
First, if you’re anything like me you too struggle with insecurities and sometimes (if you’re honest) you too have struggled with not feeling enough. Let me tell you that YOU are enough.
You are enough when you show up to the yoga class you have been dreading all day.
You are enough when you show up to therapy when you’re still embarrassed to be there.
You are enough when you open up and share your mental instability.
You are enough when you show up.
That’s the first step: showing up. You’ll feel less alone if you show up and more understood. We aren’t meant to do life alone - right in Genesis we learn that Eve was created because the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone” (Gen 2:18). I can make a joke here and say “well duh it’s not good for men to be alone,” but I’m trying to keep this short, sweet, and real. My point is that God created us to be in community with each other, that’s what the church is: a community of believers to do life with. Show up to be seen and heard by your community and likewise show up when someone needs support, guidance, and love.
Secondly, show up as yourself. The world doesn’t need two of anyone. Except maybe Mother Thersa. Seriously though, be you - I want to know you; not who you are trying to be like or who you wish you were like. Be confident that the Lord, Jesus, created you with intention and with purpose. I want you to live with that authority and assurance of knowing WHOSE you are.
Time for me to be honest with ya’ll this is something I STRUGGLE with. I have to choose everyday to show up as me, remember whose I am, and live with that confidence. IT IS HARD. I get it. But every day I do choose to show up and live a little more authentically there is this unexplainable joy that burns in my heart no matter the situation. Everybody has a story and everyone is going through something. So when we make it a habit to face the day, showing up and standing up in the confidence of Christ, we will win every battle because we have joy and truths written over our hearts that not even our darkest days can break. *continued in comments* - 1 hour ago
