Finals are among us... everything is fine🤪... I have a presentation tomorrow on test anxiety and thought I would share how you can kick it in the tush.
1. Cognitive 🧠
Think good positive thoughts!!! Cognitive components are the most strongly related negative component of academic performance, but you have control over it! You can retrain your brain to think good things about yourself. Break those self deprecating neuro pathways in your brain and build new positive ones!
2. See yourself succeeding🥇
This is extremely important because once again your mind is powerful. The more you think good things the more you believe in them.
3. Write down your worries and prove it wrong✍🏽
For example you could write, “I don’t know anything.” Counteract that with, “well actually I’ve been going to this class all semester I do know some things.” It’s extremely powerful, you are capable.
4. Get 6-8 hours of sleep 😴
You won’t do any better on the test by depriving yourself of sleep. Sleep sleep sleep!
5. Picture questions you’ve already studied
Repetition is key to retaining information. Also repeat good affirmations to yourself that makes you feel confident for the test.
Good luck everyone think good positive thoughts! •
