Life is generous. 🙏🏾 Quick-ish story. When I was a child, I loved to read (still do) - books, magazines, TV guides, whatever, you name it.
My aunt stocked the house with magazines, Parenting, Fitness, Health... some other randoms, but my favourites were the National Geographic magazines.
It was here that my love for travel began. I learned much about the continent of Africa from flipping through those pages. I was transported around the world with each flip.
One of the things I learned about was the Maasai tribe, one of the most well known indigenous tribes in Kenya. The Maasai are fearless hunters and warriors and are also known for rearing cattle. You may know them best by their shuka blue, striped or checkered cloth or by their jumping.
When I realized I would get the opportunity to meet and see these iconic people, whew. What a full circle moment. I was able to have a conversation with a few of the Maasai women, who were trying to get me to buy some souvenirs. It’s amazing how even with a language barrier we shared a brief conversation and some laughs.
They asked me if I had any children, I said no, they told me I was too small to have had kids 😒, shady much?! It was a moment indeed. *Pinch me!* 🤪 🙏🏾 | @exploreafricatour - 31 minutes ago
