Some days it’s not about health or building muscle...it’s just therapy! 
My workouts give me control. 
My life has been absolutely crazy this week. I was going to skip the gym this morning in order to catch up, but I couldn’t find a sub for my class. 
I’m so glad I got my workout in. I felt a hundred times better as my stress level went down and those magical endorphins started flowing. 
This hour saved my sanity, no doubt!

Don’t skip your workout when life gets crazy, make sure to get it in! 
You’ll feel so much better as you set aside time for you. 
It’s not selfish at all and should never be used as, “if I have time to workout”, but instead say, “I will make time to workout”. You deserve to be healthy, happy, and in control. 
Don’t wait for a good time because, let’s be honest, that’s never going to happen. 😉

Two years ago, I completed my first 21 day program! I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those 21 days and how much those 30 minute workouts, the personal development, the community, and the portion control system helped me make the change I so desperately needed. I felt energized, confident, strong, supported, and in control for the first time in forever! After feeling like shit, mentally and physically, for so long, I became hooked on feeling good. So, I made it my job to pay this forward to others and have been able to help support my family by doing so(you can too!) Habits are greater than, in other words - better than, food rules. The old saying that rules are meant to be broken holds true when it comes to having a healthy relationship with food and meeting your weight and improved nutrition goals. With the exception of allergies/food sensitivities, cutting out entire food groups or only eating at certain times or saying ABSOLUTELY NONE of this or that is not sustainable after about the first 2 weeks, for the average person. If it works for you, totally awesome — but it’s not necessary. .

On the other hand, learning habits to help facilitate a calorie deficit (for weight loss) or surplus (for weight gain) can be effective no matter what or when you eat. Good habits can keep you balanced and adaptable to life. Flexible habits are made to be bent, not broken, yet still be effective.

Day 16 & 17-  heavy push and pull. 
I Needed a rest day yesterday, because work was very physical all day, lifting heavy ass logs and chainsawing. I just didn’t have it in me for the weights. so I skipped my workout, which meant double duty for today. I felt like running ( who am I?) so I ran a mile in between workouts.  @TeamBodybuildingcom

It’s true.  People think I’m patient, but I’m not.  I’m stubborn and polite and determined and responsible and somehow those three virtues/vices compensate for patience most of the time.
.
As you know, I’m not patient about my kitchen.  I want it done! I want to show you all! I want to style it!
.
But, most salient for me today, is that I am not patient about getting back into exercise the way I was accustomed to doing it before pregnancy and babies.
.
This whole bit by bit, stage by stage, restrain yourself (be patient with yourself for people who are not me) thing is so overrated, except that it’s totally not because the other option is injury which only amplifies my impatience.
.
So, I pace myself.  Because I am stubborn, determined, and responsible.
.
Here’s what that looks like at the moment.
.
I will do 21 days of core strength work before I will allow myself to graduate to the next step.  I had a start on that, but had to modify for a week and a half due to my back injury. Since I didn’t stop, I just paused those 21 days, rather than restarting.  Now I have 14 more days of strengthening my core to establish what feels like a healthy place to start my next work. That will be 21 days of the workouts my awesome sister-in-law over at @lizwinterswellness designed for me while I was pregnant.
.
Which will be an awesome step, but still not where I want to be.  Where I want to be is the step after that.
.
But I can’t get to where I want to be if I don’t take the right steps, one at a time,with patience...or something that looks like it. 
I have to say though, that I think I’d rather be patient.  It sounds so calm...so healthy, so unrestrained.
