Yesterday was a great day for me in terms of diet and exercise. I hit an early boxing session @empower_lansing and then at night I went to #planetfitness and hit weights and some decent cardio. My eating was also pretty good yesterday with pretty balanced macros.
However I wanna take a moment to talk about something personal. The stress of law school has been really getting to me lately; worrying about cold calls, exams, assignments, and finding a job on top of just general life stress. Yesterday it all really hit me like a ton of bricks. I started to feel very panicky and jittery. It was hard to breathe and I was super agitated. That’s one of the main reasons I ended up going to the gym late last night. I had to go and get my mind off the stress and focus on what I can control.
I think it’s really easy for people to get caught up worrying about things they can’t control. I find myself worrying about stuff like this all the time. It’s important to take a step back and focus on what you have control over. You can control your diet and your exercise, you can control the amount of effort you put into something. You can’t control what other people are gonna do or think. For example I control the amount of effort I put in to finding a job, I can prep for it and research the employer. But I cant control if I’m not what they are looking for or if they prefer someone else. I can control what I’m putting in my body and what I do at the gym. I can’t control the crazy weather that makes it difficult to make it to the gym. So focus on yourself and being the best you that you can be.
