Training tip of the week is all about squatting.

One of the more common mistakes I see with squatting is  executed during the un rack.  A large percentage of people will mindlessly un rack the barbell with a big arch in the low back which in turn is going to create a disconnect between the pelvis and ribcage.  This will create a less than optimal position whilst also putting your low back in a more vulnerable spot.

If you notice in the 1st clip my awesome assistant un racks the bar with a big arch in his low back and almost performs a good morning to get it out.  We correct this in the second attempt by cueing him to “bring his belt buckle to his chin” this will flatten out the low back and realign the pelvis and the ribcage.

Have a friend look at your squat un rack and see if this tip helps you out.  If you don’t have any friends with you video your squat from the side.

Big shout out to a very close friend and client today. He is one of the people who makes my job easy, anytime I make an adjustment to anything he just soaks it up and puts the work in.

He hit a smooth top single on squats yesterday of 515 with some reps in the tank.

I am very proud of how far he’s came this far and super excited to see what the future has in store for him.  Thanks to my other amazing client @sabinemiller_28 for recording as well! “Jesus” 😂 @mcdowell_brandon93 @totalfitnessasheboro @pelon0811

A new day, another workout💪Working on my goals.
While it looks like I’m only climbing mountains and enjoy the outdoors, I actually spend more time at the gym. One of the exercices I just started working on is glute bridge ((I never done it before)and squats. I also work with being a better runner. It’s good to have something to work for, only then you see the progress .
