Our #SaintOfTheDay and #QuoteOfTheDay go hand in hand.
Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Cecilia; virgin and martyr! She is one of the most popular and well-known Saints from the early Church - despite how little we actually know about her.
There are more legends than fact, but she is known for always carrying a song in her heart and lifting praise to God in times of trial and persecution.
She converted the man she was betrothed to to Catholicism - which led to his death and her eventual death too. Being Catholic wasn’t easy at that time in history, but she kept her faith strong and firm.
How can we strive to be more like the brave St. Cecilia?
Well, the quote attributed to Augustine helps us with that. When we use our talents to glorify God it is a form of prayer; singing in Mass is one example of this where we honor God not only with the words we sing but with our very voices that He gave us.
Everything you do can become a prayer and a means to share the glory of God - so how will you do that today?
St. Cecilia, pray for us. St. Augustine, pray for us.
