My client asked me to come up with a way to cover the bolts holding up a support beam on a large pergola that I built for her. Here’s what I came up with. I cut the threaded rod back flush with the beam and then chiseled a square hole around the nut. Then I cut 1 1/2 inch square plugs and mitered the edges and corners. Holes were drilled in the back of the plug to fit over the nut and then filled with polyurethane construction adhesive. I drove them in tight against the nut and rod end. The finished plugs project 1 inch from the surface of the beam. #pergola#squareplug#squareplugs#woodwork#customwoodworking#pressuretreatedwood#pressuretreatedlumber#pressuretreated#customwoodplugs - 20 days ago
When making stereo runs on your board, it helps to cut each cable 1 inch shorter in the direction of the run. This lets the jacks be vertical and your leads to have equal relief and flow. - 3 months ago
