Far better than watching paint dry...it’s alive!!! #waynethesourdough LA style adding a little less flour to the mix in the lower humidity and warmer temperatures here. However the nights are getting darker and colder and heard someone say “it’s getting to be 4 seasons in a day in #lalaland “ so I made a super simple Bone Broth Onion Soup:
In a medium/large pot heat vegetable oil and ghee or butter, then add 
6 onions, I used 4 brown and 2 sweet, peeled, halved and thinly sliced, over low heat stirring to coat with the oil. Stir occasionally until a dark golden brown.
Add 6-8 cloves of peeled, thinly sliced garlic( best if you let garlic sit on cutting board 10 minutes to activate the health benefit, a good indicator when it becomes sticky the beneficial compounds have been activated.) stir and simmer another 5 minutes then add:
1.5 liter/quart of bone broth ( in #spicehealthheroes ) or stock of your choice
2 bay leaves 
2-3 big pinches salt and pepper 
¼ to ⅓ cup white wine 
Squeeze of lemon choice and 2tsp of mixed dried herbs. 
Let simmer 15-20 minutes until onions are soft and adjust seasoning to taste.
Finish with fresh sliced sourdough, spread thinly with grainy mustard, topped with grated sharp cheddar cheese placing in Baking tray and grilled/broiled in hot oven until cheese melts about 3 1/2 minutes.
Serve in warmed bowls topped with the homemade sourdough cheese toasts. Stick to the ribs deliciousness.

This butternut squash soup with maple butter croutons is one of my favorites. It cooks in 10 minutes when made in an instant pot or around 20 on the stove top. (prep to finish is around 30 minutes) and it tastes Amazing! Savory, slightly sweet, subtle but deliberate spice,  buttery texture...it’s the perfect fall soup. I actually used a buttercup squash (acorn and butternut squash hybrid squash) for the soup in his picture, butternut squash comes out a little lighter /pale yellow)

Recipe for 2 servings 
Total calories per 1 serving : 423 kKal 
Bahan : 
2 lembar Puff Pastry ukuran 15x15
1 sdm Minyak Zaitun / Olive Oil 
50 gram Ayam Dada / Chicken Breast potong kotak kecil 
30 gram Bawang Bombay / Onion cincang halus 
30 gram Wortel / Carrot potong kotak kecil 
10 gram Seledri / Celery iris tipis 
2 sdm Tepung terigu / Wheat Flour 
400 ml Air / Water 
100 ml Susu / Milk 
1/4 sdt PURA Himalayan Salt 
1 sdm PURA Seasoning Chicken 
Lada Hitam / Black Pepper pinch of 
Pala Bubuk / Nutmeg Powder pinch of 
Egg Wash : 
1 butir Kuning telur / Egg Yolk 
1 sdm Susu / Milk 
Langkah : 
PREPARE : 
1.Pre-Heat oven 200*c 
2.siapkan mangkuk sup tahan panas 
3.puff pastry, ukuran 15x15 cm 
4.wortel, potong kotak kecil 
5.bombay, cincang halus 
6.seledri, iris tipis 
7.ayam, potong kotak kecil 
8.egg wash, campur kuning telur dengan 1 sdm susu 
STEP : 
1.siapkan panci, panaskan minyak zaitun lalu tumis bahan : - ayam dada - bawang bombay - wortel - seledri, masak sampai harum dan layu 
2.setelah harum dan layu, masukan tepung terigu, aduk rata 
3.setelah tercampur rata, masukan susu dan air, aduk rata 
4.beri seasoning : - pura himalayan salt - pura seasoning chicken - lada hitam - pala bubuk, aduk rata. masak (api kecil) sampai mengental 
5.setelah mengental angkat, tuang ke mangkuk 
6.siapkan puff pastry, tutup mangkuk yang sudah diisi sup 
7.oleskan puff pastry dengan egg wash secara merata 
8.bake sup dengan suhu 200*c selama 20 menit (sampai golden brown) 
9.setelah matang, keluarkan dari oven lalu sajikan (hati-hati mangkuk panas)

When I was 12 I helped my aunt make cream of broccoli soup, and I’ve been cooking it ever since. It’s so good that we ate it all before I snapped a pic! I served it with garlic bread on whole wheat bread from a local bakery (@rise.up.bakery) and it was enough for my family of 4 to eat for dinner 2 nights in a row and to share with 2 couples on my street. To make, sauté 1 diced onion, 2 diced celery stalks, and 4  minced garlic cloves in 3 TBS olive oil or butter. Once it’s translucent, stir in 1/4 cup flour for the roux and cook for a quick minute. Add 6 cups (3 cans) of chicken broth and 1 tsp dijon mustard. Add 3-4 medium potatoes, diced, and boil for 5-10 minutes. Next add 4 cups (1.5-2 lbs) broccoli florets (or 2 cups broccoli and 2 cups cauliflower) and boil until both the potatoes and broccoli are cooked. Add 2 cups milk or half and half, and 1-2 cups grated cheddar cheese. Add 1 TBS chopped fresh parsley (optional) and salt and pepper to taste (my fave salt is Penzey’s seasoning salt). I also like to sprinkle paprika on top. I had leftover bacon from BLTs, so I minced and added some to the soup this time. #soup #souprecipe #broccoli #broccolicheddarsoup #vegetables

How about a delicious soup that’s great for anti-aging and cold prevention?
You don’t have to add starch the soup will be thick from the sweet potato 🍠✨
You can use plant milk or water instead of soy milk.
Using canned pumpkins made it really easy to make but you can definitely use real pumpkins as well 👍✨
I used basic spices for the ingredients but feel free to use whatever you like 😉💕

Vegetable broth ... 240 cc (15g if powder + 240 cc water)
Organic Pumpkin ... 1 can (425g)

Ginger ... small amount
Salt, pepper ... appropriate amount
Agave syrup ... 1 tsp
Soy milk or water ... appropriate amount (about 100cc)

➖ How to make ➖
・
① Stir fry the carrots, onions and sweet potatoes with olive oil over medium heat for 10 minutes. Add pumpkin and vegetable broth and simmer until soft.
・
② Use a blender and blend until smooth.
・
③ Pour back into the pan and season with coriander, nutmeg, ginger, agave syrup, soy milk, salt and pepper.
・
④ Set on low heat so that it doesn’t boil, serve in a bowl and garnish with pumpkin seeds and coconut cream.

How did I make this easy veggie soup?  Here it is:
1️⃣Ingredients: 1 pumpkin, 1 onion, 2 carrots, 1 head of cabbage, microgreens, spinach, salt and pepper
2️⃣Process: cut up all the veggies and throw them in the #pressurecooker. Cover with water or broth and cook on high for 25 minutes
3️⃣Process: blend it all up with the hand mixer until smooth. Top with some fresh spinach for a bit of crunch. 
4️⃣Process: eat!!

Why soup?  Lots of reasons but most prevalent for a household on a budget is it’s a great way to avoid throwing out veggies that are starting to wilt!  And of course it’s a quick and easy way to pick a ton of vitamin density and fiber into a delicious bowl that you can drink or spoon down easily!

🍀Irish Cabbage and Potato Soup☘️ with ham, onion, celery, carrots, garlic, and herbs

INGREDIENTS:
•1 T Butter
•1 medium Yellow Onion, chopped
•2 stalks Celery, chopped
•2 lg OR 3 medium sized carrots, peeled and sliced to ⅓ inch thick
•2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
•1½-2 c Precooked Honey OR Smoked Ham,  cut into ½-1" inch cubes
•1 (32oz) container Chicken Stock
•3-4 c Water
•4-5 medium Red Potatoes (peeled OR unpeeled), chopped
•1 small Head of Cabbage (the size of a soft ball), chopped
•½ T dry Parsley
•½-1 tsp dry Thyme
•½ tsp ground black pepper
•* no salt needed if using salted stock, plus the ham is usually salted
•2 Bay Leaves
•2 T Flour 🍀Heat butter in lg frying pan over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, & celery. Sauteed 3-4 minutes until it starts to soften 🍀Stir in garlic, add ham. Saute 1 minute or so to slightly caramelize edges 🍀Place all contents of pan into a stock pot with the chicken stock, water, potatoes, cabbage, parsley, thyme, pepper and bay leaves. Bring to a slow boil (which is where small bubbles are rising slowly to the top), then immediately lower heat to Low, cover pot, simmer 30-35 minutes until potatoes and cabbage are tender 🍀Gently stir in flour to combine with the broth. Remove bay leaves, and you are ready to serve
