I'm not quite sure where this effort came from, but I broke my 10k PB by 3 minutes 17 seconds today!
I was just going to go out for a 10k run as I didn't want to keep upsetting my hip. My legs and feet today felt like rocks though, they were so heavy and running felt a chore.
I kept pushing though and didn't let myself walk as much as I did before as I wasn't going for a 15k distance. As I got to 6k I thought I may be able to get a 1:12 PB so kept pushing more.
I was fighting some strong mental demons towards the end but then saw that I could maybe get a 1:10 PB instead, so I pushed those demons to the side. During the last 2km I had some Slipknot songs come on that I had added to my playlist, and those let me power through and keep the pace up.
Now to ice up my shins as they're starting to ache, and relax for the rest of the day.
