Monday Motivation brought to you from mile 10 of my race!
Yesterday was a moment to moment culmination of events. Every step, every heartbeat, every mile, my mind allowed my heart to ebb and flow with emotions. Often a giant smile from ear to ear, followed by flowing tears the very next. (Read my last post & the tears will make more sense)
I felt wildly unprepared & didn't have a handle on where my body was truly at physically. As a single mom I just didn't get the time to do the long runs that a long race demands. However, since completing chemo 4 years ago, running this race has been on my vision board. It was proof that my endurance & most importantly my mindset had healed from it all.
So, instead of canceling the race when I saw my schedule with the kids wouldn't allow the typical training, I just went ALL in on what I could control. HARD CORE workouts in my living room for about 30 min everyday for the last 77 days (supwr early while my babies slept). Couple that with good nutrition & I was able to carry out my goal. I pushed myself, knowing that if I trust the process the results would come!
At mile nine my friend text me, "Where ya at girl?!" I replied, "Mile marker 9!!!" She was just hitting 8, but my mind shifted...I didn't want to cross that finish line alone. I didn't get through cancer, a divorce, and this health journey alone...I've done it with AMAZING peeps lifting me up. So, I went to the sidewalk & cheered, waiting for her. We crossed the finish line holding hands (and perhaps I shed a few tears). 🤷♀️ Are you ready to set your goal & crush it!! Are you ready to have someone hold your hand across the finish line?!?! I got you sis! Share a goal with me below, let's like, comment, encourage, & cheer each other on this lovely Monday!!! #momsrunthistown #armytenmiler #goaldigger #outlivingit #slayinggoals #triplenegativebreastcancer #youngadultcancer #momofboth #liveoutloudeveryday #womenwhorun #momswhorun #bettertogether #friendsthatbecomefamily - 2 days ago
