Working with my client @braininjurysa it seems every week I learn something new, inspiring and mind expanding... 💕 This week it’s been lessons in HOPE.
Did you know that hope is powerful, scientifically proven even, to be deeply important in rehabilitation. Current research is shedding light on why hope matters so much, revealing how it works wonders for the brain, mind and body. Hope is being shown to alter depression pathways in the brain, improving mood; reduce cortisol levels and pro-inflammatory cytokines (small secreted proteins released by specific cells of the immune system), reducing associated health risks and even assisting with wound repair. It increases the potential for survival in critically ill people and can even have an epigenetic impact (🤯 love this) and change the expression of genes. Plus much much more!
So my plan from now on is to allow myself to hope a bit more. Today? I hope for a future where we all acknowledge we are at an environmental tipping point and that every little bit we can do DOES count... From making use of green bins (compost away people!) to marching for climate action. 💚♻️
Would love to hear what others hope for? Jess 💕#reuse #recycle #hope #feltstories #heartfeltbiz - 1 day ago
