Have you ever had those days when the world felt unbearably heavy? I have.
It isn’t uncommon to experience periods of overwhelm. And if you happen to be an over-achiever like me, that overwhelming feeling can heighten to uncontrollable levels. Your plate will already be stacked—and you continue to add onto it, thinking you are doing yourself a favour.
It can be so difficult to pull back when all you want to do is push forward. You get addicted to the constant hustle of life. While having that level of focus will serve you well, it can be emotionally and physically draining if you don’t know when to stop. 🤯
Lately, I have been developing a routine of dedicating at least 1-2 hours each day towards some form of self-care. For me, that could mean reading, writing, being outdoors, meditating, taking a power nap, going to the gym, catching up with a friend, watching a movie, or playing video games.
Having that time to yourself to do what you enjoy can be therapeutic. It can also help in clearing your thoughts while refuelling your soul with the feel-good vibes it needs. Developing hustle is important towards achieving greatness, but nothing is greater than your health. Tomorrow is always a new day to continue working on the important things in your life.
