“That’s what it is to be human- the beauty and the pain, each meaningless without the other.” Berry Sutton is a detective for the NYPD. One night he is called to talk down an individual from the edge of the building. She is suffering from False Memory Syndrome and like others with this condition, she can not cope. Helena is a neuroscientist who is focused on finding a way to preserve memories for people with cognitive issues like her mother. The story follows these two over many lifetimes as they battle the repercussions of the invention Helena originally thought would change the world for the better.
I am not a fan of sci-fi and have a really hard time staying focused through these books however this was grabbed my attention from the get go. I will say the lingo is a little bit challenging to follow but over all this is a very fascinating read.
