Sophia turns and reaches for the Flame of Avalon, a flame of peace created from many sacred world flames, including a burning torch from the fires of Hiroshima. “Mama, the candle. We must say a prayer for peace.”
I smile with humility at the child who understands what it means to suffer, and light the candle as we pray together for union. For it is only when each person aspires to unite their feminine and masculine psyche as a whole; when women and men meet as equals in society; when Goddess is revered as highly as God, that the world has any hope of peace.
Extract from my historical, Gnostic novel The Serpent’s Tale in honour of the UN International Day of Peace.
May peace be in your hearts and in our global community
