We live in a constantly faster world. Everything is immediate, within a phone’s reach. Moments fickle, experiences less tangible, often viewed through an intermediary eye. It can be nice and perhaps inspiring but it does also seem severed from reality. Sometimes incredibly hard and difficult things occur. They ground you. They change you. A person can innately develop and alter their mindset in these moments. When something is taken away, we then appreciate what it was that was there all along. Call it didactic, call it ‘life’ but ultimately it can be soul crushing and it’s those that persevere, that build resilience and that builds character and strengthens your heart. You are free to love most boldly when you know just how quickly things can be taken away.
Yesterday was so heartfelt, light and joyous but there was also the most incredible reverence for love and life and family and support. These are the things that made me well up with tears during Dan’s speech and these are the things that today make me grateful for everything that I took away from yesterday. I’m thankful for the laughs and the open warmth, all made apparent by a unifying force that is the most special bond Dan and Nikki have. Being in their presence yesterday reminded me of my mum. Of how much she loved me and how much I loved her. Seeing their love for one another and their family was something I will never forget and that is something that will never be lost on me. Genuinely. From the bottom of my heart to yours guys, yesterday was incredible in every sense of the word. Your love is inspiring. You know it. Everyone at your wedding yesterday knows it and now I know it too.
Here is to a beautiful life to the both of you, thank you for everything. Oh and of course the biggest congratulations to you stunning humans.❤️ - 3 hours ago
