❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 We are slowly building our library and toys to include something about everyone. Our world is too bright to not showcase all of its beauty!!! Not only as a PICU nurse but as a Mama I feel like the importance to teach our children that we are ALL special and created differently. Just because one person is smaller, or missing an arm, or can’t talk, or is a different color, or gets around by wheelchair, or other device...these things shouldn’t set them apart...we are ALL the same. If anything our differences should bring us TOGETHER.
So often this goes in the “un-talked” about category. Instead as parents (myself included) we need to include it in our books and our toys and and most importantly our conversation. Engaging our kids that they’re just as “normal” as you or I. We need to change those stares into hellos 👋🏼. These kids wanted to be talked to, played with, and made best friends with just as any other kid their age!!! Don’t let someone’s development or difference hold you back from truly getting to know their family and the child. I pray and I pray some more that whenever my girls encounter someone that may look differently or speak differently than them..that it’s “normal!” That they speak to them, high five them, and play with these kids just as they would anyone else.
I’ve found some amazing books that bring light to ALL of our amazing kids. Just makes my Mama heart so happy when we see no difference..because, truly...we are ALL the same!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #seenodifference #weareallthesame #makingreadingfun #usbornebooksandmore #getlit #reading #bookstakeyouplaces #booksbooksbooks - 2 days ago
