After my husband left to run/climb up Lake Sarez, I was left on my own with many of them, who had gathered around me with curiosity. Someone (who considered himself to be a very good photographer) once looked at my images dismissively and commented that it is "easy" for me to photograph people because I am a woman. He said that people warm to women easier, because they do not feel "threatened".
This is an image of my beautiful little friends, Mayo & Adiba. The happiness of their faces was real. Every time I look at images like this, I forget all the negative remarks I get, and try to stay positive.
