Long ago warthog and elephant were the same size, they roamed together while sharing any unearthed prize.
The elephants flat broad feet were perfect for uncovering insects that would provide warthog with crunchy meat.
The warthogs tusks were perfect for grooming grass, this gave him skills that elephant thought was total class.
The two got on until one day Elephant began to hatch a plan, if he pulled it off he thought it would make him the man.
He had always revered warthog for his long white tusks. The pair Elephant sported were only the size of rusks.
One day when warthog was not feeling so grand, elephant decided it was time to deal out his preconceived hand.
He asked poor warthog if he could borrow his long ivory bows, he would do a quick swap allowing him to glean the grass in neat rows.
The warthog agreed. After all he wanted was his close friend to get a good feed.
Once the Elephant affixed the warthogs appendages, he began to reap the rewards of their advantages.
He had never planed to give them back. All he wanted to do was put a lot of distance between them both by following a well worn track.
As he sped off he passed the returning Pangolin. Elephant laughed at warthogs stupidity with a grin.
Pangolin could not do anything but stand and stare. How could elephant think he could get away with this, all he thought was how did he dare!
Pangolin found warthog who had become even sicker, he immediately thought if he did not help him out he would end up in a basket made of wicker.
Pangolin took warthog to his room, without the large tusks he could descend into pangolins burrow to relieve his gloom.
Eventually warthog beat his affliction. Along the way he had found a new home he could live in without any confliction.
His tusks were gone but he had gained a new home. Deep underground he would never be alone.
The elephant on the other hand was beginning to learn the problems with his new adornments. His body was designed a bit different and soon he needed to grow reinforcements.
In time he grew in size, his body changed its shape. To this day he remains burdened by his decision to steal the tusks that lead to his escape. - 3 hours ago
