📢The PSA we all need from @juliebravewriter to start the school year.
Listen to our mini-episode “The ‘Unruffled by Skeptics’ Chat” for our best advice on how to think about and answer skeptics and curious questioners. Wherever you do podcasts and at homeschoolunrefined.com.
You have one job: to create an environment that supports the growth of your unique children into the people they are destined to be.
It’s not on you to prove that homeschooling works.
It’s not on you to make sure your children out-perform their public schooled peers.
You don’t owe anyone a successful homeschool, even the state—because you can change educational models and strategies at any time!
You have a right to make mistakes, to change your mind, to fail, to brilliantly and wildly succeed, or to have a ho-hum garden-variety homeschool for your family. You get to have the same results that every other educational model achieves: for better or worse. You have the privilege of problem-solving, not disguising and hiding failure and struggle.
The reputation of homeschool does not depend on you. Your children’s well-being does. Let’s focus on that. I hear that when we do, a quality education gets tossed into the bargain.
