Here are 3 different High Intensity Interval Training
(HIIT) workouts you should try!
HIIT (high intensity interval training) is a predominantly
high intensity anaerobic workout. Its purpose is to
prolong the time of EPOC (excess postexercise oxygen
consumption) as our body continues to "burn" energy by
keeping the metabolism high several hours post-training.
HIIT is super useful for improving metabolic efficiency
lean mass, and lipid consumption.
Workout 1 focuses on HIIT on the elliptical or the
treadmill.
Workout 2 primarily focuses on bodyweight excercises
do 3-5 circuits of the workout, depending on your fitness
level.
Workout 3 incorporates weight training along with

As someone who has struggled with my relationship with food in the past, I am so thankful #trimhealthymama exists. Not only because it changed my entire mindset around food and eating, but I am able to teach my kids from the start how to properly treat their bodies and fuel them with delicious, yummy, wholesome foods! They are learning from early ages what lifelong healthy eating habits look like. They are learning how to make being healthy tasty and fun. My kids down okra-filled brownies like it was out of style (then proceed to ask for more! 😉) My oldest kiddo even said to me once, “whenever make something Trim Healthy Mama I don’t think I’m going to like it, but then I try it and it becomes one of my new favorites!” This way of eating hasn’t just changed my perspective and habits, but it’s forming my childrens’ perspective and habits, and for that I am so grateful! #trimhealthymama

Fitness has become so important to  me because in this journey I’ve learned self love ✨
ever since the beginning of this journey, I’ve not given up on working on being a better version of myself mentally, spiritually and physically. Let me tell you it’s a darn struggle but it’s been so worth it, tbh I feel like I am by far in the best place I’ve ever been. Applying each downfall as a learning experience, learning to not allow any negative situation mess with my happiness and peace and overall pushing my body to the limits each and every single day 💖

Wasn’t sure i was going to get my workout done today. 
Its Curts birthday and the kids had 1/2 day of school, and speech, and errands…life. But, I know if i don’t make it a priority, it will be the first thing that goes on the back burner. So,  Workout 87/100 done! 
But, on this journey, there is a very important thing called life that has to be lived and enjoyed ☀️⁣

I started to choose self-love as my motivational tool for health and wellness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As I dealt with my “ISH,” as I broke SHAME in my life, as I started embracing SELF LOVE, I got happier.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Did I gain weight? A little…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Not a ton, but enough for me to notice.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maybe you have too.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maybe you were like me and told yourself you’d be happier once you worked off that post-grad or post-you-name-it weight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …but then it didn’t happen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …and you were disappointed…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …so you internally beat yourself up over it…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …and refused to let yourself be happy until you lost the weight again…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not a great way to live, is it?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sure there has to be MORE to happiness than a number on a scale.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s what I did…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I dealt with the ROOT of the reason why I was connecting my happiness to my weight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I broke the shame I felt about my weight and the way my body looked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I started to choose self-love as my motivational tool for health and wellness.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I dealt with my “ISH,” as I broke SHAME in my life, as I started embracing SELF LOVE, I got happier.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did I gain weight? A little…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I’m healthier than when I cared about the number on the scale.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I’m happier and more in love with myself than ever before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happiness is not about the number. Feels so good to be back doing my home workouts 🙌🏼 I’ll always be so thankful this came into my life almost 3 years ago when I needed it the most. A time post partum when I felt lost, depressed and not myself. I lost 60 lbs from home but most importantly I found myself and self confidence. Especially being a busy mamma , I love that I can just workout from home and not have to gather up the kids and get everything in the car. Literally just 20 minutes in the garage, taking that time for me and back in mom mode after. Makes me feel so much better. Excited for my post partum journey but for now appreciating that I can move and be active for me and babe. I had to modify a lot and take more breaks (and lots of water) but man does it still kick my ass 🔥 Remember mammas - if a move doesn’t feel comfortable , don’t do it! Listen to your body. Slow down when needed. I know it’s hard to not resume your normal , but you’ll get there after baby. Just move, even if there is modifications. The important part is just to be active and not put so much pressure on yourself. .

I made shrimp for dinner on Monday and I gotta say, it never disappoints!  I remember when I first made shrimp I was pretty intimidated, I had no idea which to buy or how to go about making it.  But just like anything new, you learn as you practice and I was so happy to find how easy it was during my first hand at it.
I used raw frozen shrimp, peeled & deveined, tail on.  I made about 7 per serving as pictured here since it gave me about 20 gm protein. 
Here’s the method: Heat a large non-stick pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.  Add ½ tsp of butter or ghee. Add the thawed shrimp and let the shrimp cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes until opaque with a pearly pink color & bright red tails. Once you flip the shrimp to cook on the other side, add about 1 minced garlic clove to the pan as well. (I like to add the garlic to the side of the pan and sauté as the other side of the shrimp cooks since we do not need to be touching the shrimp as it cooks). Season the shrimp with red chili pepper flakes, salt & black pepper.  Once done, remove from the pan and set aside. 
I paired my shrimp with brown rice (I made on Sunday) + cilantro and sautéd spinach.  So easyyy & so yummyyy! #ravLean
