Ryan and I were reflecting yesterday on the gender reveal party and were overwhelmed with thankfulness for all the help we had. For the many parties I have thrown over the years, this was the most epic one when it came to size, amount of food and decor, etc.
I kind of went nuts with all my ideas for the party and it most certainly wouldn’t have come together if it wasn’t for my gracious family and a few awesome others for offering to bring food. Plus to my friends who came out the night before to prep, and then even more who came early to set up, decorate, and prepare the food. It was a legit mad house here for the couple hours before and even though I was emotional and insane and losing my mind, I stopped for a moment and looked at the 10+ people in my kitchen all working like crazy people to get everything plated, arranged, and put together and I just got an overwhelming sense of gratefulness for how blessed I am to have all these people who love Ryan and me. I even had several other friends who offered to come help too and a bunch of people stayed and helped clean up as well. I just really felt the love as someone who really appreciates acts of service more than anything.🖤
Sometimes I get worried thinking about being a mom and wondering how I’m gonna do it but then I remember those people at my house hustling to make sure everything is perfect for a silly party and realize how much more they will probably be willing to help out in taking care of Jude. I know I’m fortunate and I know that many people don’t have support systems like I do so I just want to remind myself to never take it for granted. So thanks to everyone who helped and who came to share in our special day! You are appreciated!
For those who are fortunate to have great support systems like I do, let’s count our blessings and be support systems for others in our lives who may not have all the help we have. Share the love! - 43 minutes ago
