When I was in school I never knew what I wanted to become later in life. I used to be really good at singing, so I thought I’m going to become a singer one day. I got singing lessons for a while, but I never dared to go out on a stage so eventually I quit that. I then soon started to travel on my own.
I was so so bad in French my parents sent me to a school in France and this was the first time I was away in a foreign country on my own for a longer period of time.
Next time I went to Bali to teach English. Did I want to become a teacher? Hell no!!! Did I enjoy traveling? 😏
I won a trip to Thailand when I was there, went back home, lost my memory in a downhill accident (whole story on my blog) and traveled to Thailand (my head slightly working- memory ruined) and taught English to monks in a temple. Did I want to become a teacher? Hell no!
After this I traveled around the world on my own. Las Vegas, Hawaii, Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and many places more.
At some point it was time to go back home and finish my studies in English and Geography. Did I want to become a teacher. Hell no.
Teachers training started. Loved the students, but did I enjoy the exams? Hell no. Germans are strict man!!! 😆🙈 I moved to Brazil once I had my masters degree and worked in a German private school in São Paulo. These were my students and this was one of the best days I’ve had there. (Love you guys 💕) Sometimes life brings you to where you need to be. I’m in Berlin now. My job offers me a good salary and holidays where I can travel. And I’m happy. It’s a bit way too cold, but it’s alright. I think I made the right choices, though I had always said “hell no- I’m NEVER EVER going to be a teacher! Here I am and I enjoy it, hahaha. (It’s not my birthday by the way- just found this one when I was looking for a black and white one, hahaha) - 2 hours ago
