Adventures in home ownership of a 1910 farmhouse! Here’s some good news... I live in NC where it’s cold this time of year but not as cold as it was when we first got married and lived in Alaska (almost 12 years ago!) 🥶 Here’s some bad news... our motor in our HVAC burnt out today. 🤦‍♀️ So we won’t have heat until tomorrow. More good news though! ☝🏻 I don’t have to spend $10k on a new HVAC unit this season after all! 🙌🏻 More good news - heading downtown to warm up with some good food and a couple of mimosas! 🥂 ⁣

Home body or social body?? Which are you?! I treasure my girls trips and the traveling that I get to do with my team, but the real reason I do what I do is right here. 
It’s having moments like this...giggling and laughing with my kids during the day while I’m working, working out, playing, or doing things around the house with them. 
THIS is ultimately what I’m fighting for...to be able to have freedom from stress of finances while having someone else tell me when to show up for work. 
It’s not about the recognition or the rewards that has driven me to be consistent in my business and fitness. It’s moments like this that make the hustle 10000% worth it ❤️

I feel beautiful.

Reflection:
The idea that I am uniquely created is enough for me to feel beautiful. I wholeheartedly embrace every aspect of my physical appearance. I love the fact that I am the only person who looks like me.

I feel special because I have beautiful features.

I know what it feels like to lack self-confidence. There are times when I feel my eyes are less fiery or my skin is less radiant than other days. On those days, I take the time to remind myself I am uniquely designed.

I challenge myself to determine which external factors cause me to feel unattractive.

When I listen to my inner voice, it tells me I am the most beautiful being on Earth. I endeavor to focus on that voice so my self-confidence remains high.

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you continue to be where you always are. A wise friend once said to me what got you here won’t get you there.
.
 I’ve said over and over I’m going all in, but was I really all in?  What does it mean to be ALL IN? .
I’ve been consistent with my fitness for just under 3 years. I’ve worked out 30 to 40 minutes a day 5 to 6 days a week consistently. .
Consistency is key 🔑 you don’t need to workout hours a day to see results, you don’t need to do all the cardio, you just need to be consistent in doing the right things to move the needle over time.
.
Over the course of my journey I’ve  learned how to fuel my body to thrive, I’ve learned exactly how much and what to eat to see results, I’ve also learned how to eat the foods I love and still make progress. .
I’ve been in somewhat of a maintenance mode for some time now.  My focus hasn’t been on losing any weight, just maintaining and building strength physically, and emotionally.
.
I found myself doing all the right things followed by some of the wrong things over and over again in a viscous cycle.  I was struggling on the inside with lots of life happening so naturally for me the first thing that goes is my mindset, and then my nutrition, and not necessarily not eating well but not eating enough of the right foods and not meeting my body where it was.
.
I had learned enough to know if I cleaned it up, planned, and prepped, I could get back on track immediately. But I also was able to go off track very quickly knowing that I could course correct so easily without much thought. This wasn’t serving me, I was feeling the effects of not getting enough of the right foods, eating more of the foods that weren’t serving me, and doing the emotional stress comfort eating that doesn’t do anything productive for anyone.

Something finally clicked and I started identifying the areas where I didn’t have solid habits and I started to own my areas of struggle. I needed to put it all together and truly go ALL IN.  It’s been a learning process, and just like my fitness I realized my nutrition and mindset were just as important to get me from where I was to where I want to go.

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough, and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice holiday, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. 
It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life." This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. 
So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink.... there is no better time than right now to be happy.

My DREAM home fitness program is finally launching in a few short weeks! I cannot WAIT to build more strength and develop more flexibility, balance, and more-defined DANCER LEGS! I was just telling my dance teachers today how I wish I had the hip flexor strength of a ballerina to make several movements easier and stronger in my latin and smooth dancing… I think all of that is about to get better!⁣😍

I took barre classes when I was recovering from a series of breast surgeries in 2017. It was a low impact option where I could primarily focus on my legs (I just stretched or held a modified plank during the arms portion of the class.) But, working out at home on my own time is my thing… and I was finding it hard to make it to a class that fit in with my schedule. Therefore… $$$ was just being thrown away (boutique style fitness studios are $$$$!)⁣

But now, barre is coming to my home! And, let me tell you… I was able to sample this program from the creator, @elisejoanfitness herself at the Beachbody leadership event… and if you are looking for a booty-lifting/shaping workout program that’s low-impact… this is IT!!! ⁣

Day of 1 of 42 🙌🏻 Watch me or join me. 
But this momma is finishing 2019 strong!

The next weeks represents way more than just a workout program to me. The last few weeks have been A LOT and the rest of the year isn’t easing up either. We move in our house in 2 weeks and then Christmas 🎄  And I’ll be doing this all while being a single mom to 4 whole Greg Heads back to training. 
You see this isn’t about being perfect or waiting till the perfect time. That day really never comes. Am I right?! So stop kidding yourself!🤪 This is about consistency and pushing myself every day to get uncomfortable because that is how we grow!

It’s about shutting down that inner voice in my head that says “I can’t!” And reclaiming the inner warrior that says “you can and you will!”💪🏻 It’s about discipline and keeping solid habits.

Will it be easy? Heck no. But it’s a whole lot easier than walking around feeling like crap through the holidays because I couldn’t find 30-45 minutes a day to workout and eat healthy. 🔥

Day of 1 of 42 🙌🏻 Watch me or join me. But this momma is finishing 2019 strong! The next weeks represents way more than just a workout program to me. The last few weeks have been A LOT and the rest of the year isn’t easing up either. We move in our house in 2 weeks and then Christmas 🎄 And I’ll be doing this all while being a single mom to 4 whole Greg Heads back to training. You see this isn’t about being perfect or waiting till the perfect time. That day really never comes. Am I right?! So stop kidding yourself!🤪 This is about consistency and pushing myself every day to get uncomfortable because that is how we grow! It’s about shutting down that inner voice in my head that says “I can’t!” And reclaiming the inner warrior that says “you can and you will!”💪🏻 It’s about discipline and keeping solid habits. A yellow school bus has been on my vision board for years—and It meant EVERYTHING to me. Let me explain. .
I know sounds silly out of context, but putting my oldest daughter on the school bus was a huge thing on my mind since she was a baby. You know, moms worry about things that are years a way! lol
.
At 1 year old, I would drop her off at daycare before the sun was up and wonder, what would I do when she was older? Who would she be spending the morning with her before school? Who would feed her breakfast? Who would make sure her clothes matched and her hair was done. Who would give her a big giant kiss and hug before she got on the bus?? Who would come to the school parties? .
As our family grew by 2 more daughters, it all became more complicated. The logistics of our mornings would be next to impossible, and not at all what I had envisioned for our family.

My mornings now, as a work from home of 3 kids are HECTIC, but so often I’m stopped in my tracks with pure G R A T I T U D E ❤️

Without working on myself the last few years, and being part of an amazingly supportive community, I never would have had the courage  to to take risks, and dare to dream of a different life for my family. .
