Day 14-15: 40 days of prayer
Reflecting on being grateful... I’m reminded that prayer (serving, fasting, etc...) is not an option, it’s an expectation as a follower of Jesus. When we give, pray, or fast, we create space for God to do amazing things in and through us.
Today is Veteran’s Day, and I’m grateful that our politicians have created space for our nation to pause, reflect and express thanks to those who served & sacrificed to give us freedoms that many nations do not have.
Because, I’m forced to have more reflection time recovering from surgery, this day may be more significant than usual. But honestly, honoring people who sacrificially serve, in any capacity, hold a special place in my heart. I could go on about the correlation between prayer and the place our country is in. And honestly, I believe there are many similarities between faith and fighting.
So as I pause, ponder and pray, I’m thankful to all who have expressed empathy and prayers as I recover. Most of all... thank you to my dad, friends, neighbors... all military service men and women AND ministry leaders who continue to serve and protect us.
