For this review I make my way over to I Am Nacho Mama in Hicksville, NY. Nestled in a quaint shopping center, this establishment began as a food truck in the area and after growing demand, expanded into the beautiful brick-and-mortar space I see before me.
At first glance, this place is packed! There’s a slight wait for a table, but definitely not a turn-off, as this restaurant has been ultra-hyped by various friends and on the “gram”. I ordered my Diet Coke and it arrives in an old fashioned 8 ounce, glass bottle. The taste is fine; I’m not a fan of the glass bottled DC’s. The carbonation doesn’t last over time. This particular DC is fairly flat, but the syrup is still present to provide a good taste. 4/10.
Onward to the food— I have never had a better chicken empanada, THIS is the new standard! And the Mama Cuba Sandwich is in my top 10 all-time.
I highly recommend giving I Am Nacho Mama a try If you’re in the East Meadow / Hicksville area!! - 7 hours ago
