Protestacties 2017

This is Charlotte Issaly
This french woman is making humoristics videos on YouTube, on the channel madmoiZelle. If I wanted to talk about Charlie today, it’s because she is a person really touching, who is opening about how she is and who she is. Charlie is a person really sensitive. A wrong word or a good word can put her, in a mood really deep and different. She qualifies herself as an hypersensitive, and says that sometimes people close to her can’t understand how she reacts. She said about herself that she is never satisfied. She can be really happy in the morning, ready to conquer her day and the following hours, feel really sad and not proud of her at all. And also thinks that everything she does, is not good enough. She has, as everyone, (big)doubts about herself. It is never easy to be sure, that what we are doing is good or enough. And someone who talks about it louder is in my opinion important. Because everyone is dealing with his own insecurities and we sometimes feel alone. It’s no always easy to be confident in yourself, to feel good, to believe in ourselves and the fact that Charlie shares her feeling, is for me really touching and you can feel understood you are hypersensitive or not. In her own videos, Charlie talks about many things like sexism, period, hairs, party, friends... The meaning of her videos, usually is to do, what is good for you, to make you feel better behind the comedy. When she was younger m, it’s was hard for her to assume her humor, because she was a girl and she didn’t dare to express her self out loud. Now, she makes videos for women, to push them to assume it. Charlie is amis a woman who keeps her armpits hairs, she is saying to women that if they want to keep their hairs on their bodies it’s okay. It’s normal. Charlie is one of these women who inspire the others, not only women, but also men to understand some important subjects.

fun fact! when dudes b like: “yOUr’e nOT LiKe oTHeR giRls!” he’s actually admitting that he has a generally low regard and/or tolerance for your whole entire gender but is willing to make some sort of exception for you! n it’s totally not a compliment, it’s actually big red flag, though sometimes through rose-tinted glasses red looks pretty. :/

12 thousand years ago, there were 4 million people on the planet [15] - that’s just half of London today [8]. Since then, the population has grown a lot, at first slowly, and now very quickly [1]! Now there are 7.7 billion of us, and it's expected that there will be 9.7 billion by 2050, and nearly 11 billion around 2100 [10]. What effect does this have on climate change?
.
The problem is that more people means more food [7], more electricity, more flying etc., which in turn causes more global warming [14]. Worse, as people get richer, they tend to lead lives that cause release of more CO2 [2]. Getting everyone on the planet to live in an Earth-friendly way is, historically, incredibly difficult [3]; slowing population growth would help a lot though [2].
.
But can we slow population growth while being fair to everyone? Yes! In fact, increasing equality helps slow population growth [16]! The best methods are improving healthcare, giving education to everyone, and family planning; especially in countries where people often die very young [4]. If people expect their children to live longer, they tend to have fewer children [5].
.
Although the population is still growing, it is now growing slower than in the past [6]. This means that over time there will proportionally be more older people than there are now - we have an "ageing population" [11]. Currently only 1 in 11 people are over 65, but this will increase to 1 in 6 by 2050 [11]! This presents different challenges to those of over population, such as providing enough quality care for older people [12].
.
Share @climate_science ! 😊
.
Graph from the United Nations, 2019 [13]. Pink lines are 95% predication intervals - there's a 95% chance that the population will fall somewhere between these lines.

QTE: "Four years ago on, November 12 2015 President Obama became the first sitting President to grace the cover of a gay magazine when he was featured as an LGBT ally on the cover of OUT Magazine’s annual OUT 100 issue.
The man responsible for championing the end of ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’, allowing openly gay members to serve in the nations military, the passage of the very first federal LGBT law, the Matthew Shepard/James Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act, encouraging the end to the transgender military ban, and, of course, the landmark Supreme Court decision granting marriage equality to all LGBT Americans.
Each of them remarkable achievements, to have them all happen during his administration is breathtaking. Truly a man deserving of being named the OUT Ally of the Year.
What a difference just four years makes. Ameeica🇺🇸 now has a President who is openly hateful towards the LGBT community. Installing two anti-equality Supreme Court Justice’s, dozens of federal judges, reversing the ban on transgender military service, advocating to the Supreme Court for the permanent legalized discrimination of LGBT Americans in the workplace and fostering and promoting a message of hate and intolerance that has reverberated across the country.
Just today the FBI announced that hate crimes in the United States are at a 16 year high, unquestionably a direct result of having a President who normalizes hate.
Four short years and so much has changed but I hold out hope that the tide will turn and soon we’ll find ourselves with a President who leads our country with compassion, dignity and respect and recognizes that all Americans are equal." via @rchillman .

The inequality between men and women does not only stem from looking at women differently but raising your boys with unrealistic values and expectations of becoming some sort of iron men or fantasizing being less human (in other words being strong not weak).
.

This video asks the right questions to men, and to the ones who are raising men: .
Who is a gentleman?
The one with 6-packs?
The one who doesn’t cry?
The one who doesn’t get very emotional? Has a strong exterior? Has to save, protect and provide for women? Has to have a great income and a good car? Has to be macho? Strong enough to physically fight?
.
OR
.

The one who respects women. Is honest. Is strong enough to stand by the truth. Is human enough to feel pain for others? Can cook, love and be a good partner? Is allowed to grow into a sensitive boy who likes crafting or a good driver who loves cars. .

Is it really important to have a fake image of a gentleman destroy a boy’s childhood with pressure and our society with patriarchy? Or is it important to raise real humans who are considered ‘gentlemen’ when they are the first ones to speak up against wrong. When they are the most respectful and empathetic towards others.
CHANGE YOUR DEFINITIONS of what a gentleman is. GENTLE FIRST, HUMAN FIRST, Man LATER. .

I wish I could translate every word he is saying in English for all my friends here. But I tried a summary. .

A million thanks and hats off to @themancompany for this powerful message that carries a lesson for the whole world! @ayushmannk always beyond impressive in his work!
