DAY 1:

To cleanse? Or, to detox? Ahh, that is the question! But... do you know the difference??

Cleansing uses strategies to "open the doors", so to speak, so your body's emunctories (re: organs that remove waste, such as liver, colon, kidneys, lungs, & skin) can do their daily tasks of eliminating waste & neutralizing toxins we come into contact with on a daily basis (whether it's from our environment, food, or the products we use on our skin & hair).

Detoxing, however, is removing the toxins from the body that have accumulated INSIDE our cells. To efficiently perform a detox, our organs of elimination need to be in working order. That's why a "detox" should always be preceded by a "cleanse".

With a proper detox protocol, toxins are released & eliminated from the body at a reasonable pace. One might feel some mild detox symptoms, but generally speaking, if done properly, these should be at a minimum. Re: You should be able to go on about your day as per usual.

But many people jump head first into a detox without properly preparing their bodies. This often results in a healing crisis (aka. Herxheimer Reaction), where toxins are released faster than the body can eliminate them. This is where you run into a whole host of nasty, unwanted symptoms; such as headaches, joint pain, muscle cramps, irritability or anxiety, or unusual fatigue.

Want to avoid a healing crisis? Then start with a cleanse! That's what I'm doing! I've done liver cleanses before but after reading #LiverRescue by @medicalmedium, I'm excited to put into practice what he is teaching.

This is a 9-day cleanse that gradually decreases protein & radical fats from the diet, so your liver & other emunctories can have a break from all the digesting and focus on what they do best: eliminate waste! This is done all without going hungry -- or so he claims. To be quite honest, after looking at the recommended recipes/meal guidelines, I don't see how one COULD go hungry on this.

Today is day #1 of the Liver Rescue, and the menu looks damn fine:
16-oz lemon water
Eggless quiche
Mini wild blueberry muffins
Sweet potato & black bean salad w/ lime vinaigrette
Lentil tacos
... and a couple 🍎 & dates!

Throwback to warmer (and sunnier) times!! Let's talk about change!! Most of us hate change as people generally like to stay in their comfort zone 
Even if the situation is less than ideal, people have a high tendency to not change it because of the fear of the unknown. 
HOWEVER
even if change is painful, it is not as painful as staying stuck in regret and sadness. 
The next chapters of your life have not been written yet
And you hold the pen when writing it.

I love the person I am today and who I'm becoming as a result of my choices.⁣

Last night I chose to attend a "Spanglish Conversation Night" at @stpetearcadebrewery for people learning Spanish.⁣
⁣
I've studied a lot of languages, and I'm ALWAYS so nervous to speak to anyone. Why? Because what if they respond and I have no idea what they said and now I look silly?!!⁣
⁣
Which IS silly because it's not a big deal and that's how you learn!⁣
⁣
I'm proud of myself because I *almost* backed out but knew it would be good for me.⁣
⁣
I had the most fabulous time! I met new interesting PATIENT people! I understood a lot more than I expected. I was definitely the "baby speaker" of the group, and I didn't make that out to mean anything more than that.⁣
⁣
It's not a judgment. It just is. And that's okay.⁣
⁣
It was uncomfortable only for a couple of minutes, and then it felt like a beautiful gift.⁣
⁣
I even met a fellow Toastmaster :)⁣
⁣
Lesson of the day: Just say YES to what feels uncomfortable! JUST DO IT! Because doubt is stupid and you are smart and deserve experiences that expand your horizons!⁣

There’s something about running In extremely cold weather that’s just so satisfying to me.  It’s definitely not the frozen hands and feet- or runny nose!! For sure it’s not any of those things. 😉 It’s the feeling of being alive and knowing I pushed myself to do something that makes me uncomfortable.  Something that challenges my limits and tells my body that it is strong, capable and not defined by any illness or other limitations that it may be currently fighting.  Circumstances cannot define or limit you unless you let them.  And they should never keep you from feeling truly alive.  Today I challenge you to rise above your circumstances.  Rise above your perceived limitations.  Rise above your doubts.

LET GO OF THE GRIP......
And trust 🦋.
Go where things are flowing.
Let go where things are not.
Anywhere we have to force and push and grasp is not in our authentic alignment.
Usually we are only then coming from a place of fear, lack and past pain.
From our own place of Will & Control.
Look where things are flowing and go there warriors.
Look where things are not and take stock.
Do you need to step back?
Do you need to let go and check in again?
What isn’t working and why?
Release everything that is creating a block.
And create a spaciousness to allow a flow again.
Trust that you can. 
Trust that you’ll be supported.
Trust that this is for the highest good.
That anything that needs forcing may not be for you today.
To live beyond our fear and lack and from a place of true authenticity is to live in the flow with life. 
Anything else we CAN let go of.

After a remarkable run of constant flow over the past 12 months, I have found myself hitting a wall the past few days. My health is at an all time low, so is my energy, and more than anything, so is my spirit.
So now Homecoming is complete (celebrations to all the newly awakened women!!) I am deciding to step back and take stock for a bit. 
To replenish and recover in order to allow the flow to come once more.
I trust that it’s ok to let go.
Forcing will only come from fear.
I no longer choose to live from that place.
And so I’m going to come off here for a bit 
to digital detox and focus on me 
so I can find my flow once again.
I Love you warriors SO much ❤️.
Don’t ever feel like you have to force your way through life, if it is at the expense of yourself.
We are not dancing monkeys 🐒.
You are already enough 🌊.
You are the source of everything.
Trust yourself enough to listen.
Trust life enough to let go.
To allow yourself to find only the flow. 
Or to let the flow find you.

LET GO OF THE GRIP...... And trust 🦋. Go where things are flowing. Let go where things are not. Anywhere we have to force and push and grasp is not in our authentic alignment. Usually we are only then coming from a place of fear, lack and past pain. From our own place of Will & Control. Look where things are flowing and go there warriors. Look where things are not and take stock. Do you need to step back? Do you need to let go and check in again? What isn’t working and why? Release everything that is creating a block. And create a spaciousness to allow a flow again. Trust that you can. Trust that you’ll be supported. Trust that this is for the highest good. That anything that needs forcing may not be for you today. To live beyond our fear and lack and from a place of true authenticity is to live in the flow with life. Anything else we CAN let go of. I’ve been thinking a lot about how much I have reduced my families toxic load (especially after travelling recently, everything had a bloomin’ fake scent about it from the loo paper, hand soap to the detergent they washed my clothes in YUCK) and how little I knew when I started… ok I knew NOTHING. But when I found out I went NUTS. My husband may have said to me I had joined a cult! True!⠀

It was simply that once I knew better I couldn't bare using products that were making us sick. Once I knew the impact it has on your gut health, and the fact that my daughter had just been diagnosed with Celiac disease at 14 months, I wasn’t putting up with toxic crap anymore. Unfortunately this approach gave me Shingles (because I went into sttress mode about everything - it started stuffing with my head emotionally) and in hindsight I should have slowed down and looked into one thing at a time. Oh well lesson learnt! ⠀

Whaaaa this post has gone a bit of track lol. So to help you out if you too want to make a change, I want to ask you what do you have in your home or life that you can possibly swap out for something that's going to make a change for the better? It just needs to be one thing, because I find that if you just focus on one thing it feels so much easier than doing 30 at once, and once you have done one then you can move onto the next one. ⠀

Make the little changes and they will add up to big changes. ⠀
Celebrate them, then repeat! ⠀
Nothing changes if nothing changes. ⠀
