These are words people say to me. Often! 
I get that people care, they are concerned and, have my best interests at heart. I honestly appreciate that. 
The thing is, I may be slim but, that doesn’t mean I’m not healthy and after all, HEALTHY is what matters. 
I believe healthy comes in many shapes and sizes. 
Healthy is not a weight, shape or size and, healthy looks different on everyone.

Eating clean is over complicated by so many. There’s so much information out there now it can be overwhelming what I tell people an easy start is by shopping the outskirts of the market, start with simple foods, food with little to no additives. This meal I just roasted some bok Choy with avo oil and pink salt, fried up a couple eggs and had some pre made rice made with bone broth for some added vitamins. I just devoured this entire bowl of broccoli, and would I love some more, yes please! 🥦 try making this as a side or just to eat because it’s really the best broccoli you’ll ever taste 👌🏼⁣

Ingredients 🌱⁣
⁣
At least 2 cups broccoli cut into bit size pieces ⁣
Sea salt to taste ⁣
Onion powder to taste ⁣
Garlic powder to taste ⁣
3 tbsp nutritional yeast ⁣
1 tbsp olive oil ⁣
⁣
Cut broccoli into bite size pieces, and add to oiled pan. Cover with a lid, (tin foil works too) and cook on medium heat, tossing every once in a while. Season after about 1-2 mins cooking ( the moist broccoli will help absorb the seasonings) 🥦 note: I added in 1.5 tbsp NY midway and topped again just before I tossed one last time and plated ✨✨⁣

These two burritos look nearly identical. The left one contains chicken, rice, black beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, cheese, and guac. The one on the right does not have cheese or sour cream and has half a serving of guac. The result is a savings of roughly 300 calories. I used to get the more loaded burrito but I realized that the cheese and sour cream didn't really add any flavor to it when they got mixed in with the other ingredients. They also added absolutely no volume but a bunch more calories. The guac is an important ingredient but I haven't noticed a difference between a full serving and half a serving. So, I pretty much feel like I'm eating the same thing yet I have an extra 300 calories left over for more ice cream 😁👍🏼. Both options are pretty high calorie so go with a bowl of you want to save even more calories.⁣

I love veggie patties. They are so delicious and filling. But they are still quite light, so it's great to make them when you're in a mood to just stuff yourself 😁They also make an ideal meal on the go 🍴

It is almost winter and even though here in California, we don’t experience the icy cold winter weather, but it feels good to bake and have some warm home made and healthy cookies available! .

What you need: ✅3/4 cup Raw almond butter
✅1/2 cup pumpkin puree (you can use canned)
✅2 Pasture raised eggs
✅1/4 cup coconut flour
✅1/4 cup almond flour
✅1/3 cup coconut sugar
✅3/4 Tsp. gluten free baking powder
✅1 Tsp pumpkin spice
✅1/2 cup raisins
✅Avocado oil spray as needed .
Direction: ✅preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
✅In a large bowl mix together Almond butter, Pumpkin puree, and eggs.
✅Add coconut flour, almond flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, Pumpkin spice, and raisins and mix gently
✅Spray a baking sheet or a non stick cookie tray with avocado oil
place one large scoop of batter onto baking tray and flatten slightly (I used my Falafel scoop)
✅bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden but the center is slightly underdone
✅cool to room temperature, serve and enjoy

Spent the weekend in DC with Conner visiting my sister and this is how I’m feeling 😆 I didn’t make a single post, didn’t take a single photo of food, and didn’t think twice about buttering my toast at brunch. And what happened as a result was pure magic. You know those times when you’re not concerned with anything going on outside of the conversation you’re in? When no one is taking a photo or a video documenting anything? And when you’re blissfully sharing in the food and drink in front of you? This allows true ✨C O N N E C T I O N✨to occur and it feels like magic. I’ve been paying close attention to these moments lately, feeling them fully and staying present in them. Today’s digital world can feel so isolating, and “dieting” continues the isolation even when you’re PHYSICALLY present with others. Stop this cycle in its tracks by choosing to 1-put the phone down and 2-eat the buttery bread in bliss. Do this and watch what happens. You might just feel more alive than ever. —
Ps - this is not DC in November, this is the heavenly Tuolumne Meadows at Yosemite NP in August where there was sun and warmth and incomprehensible beauty...I miss it there.

I have got news for you. December is not and has never been a problem. Your lack of discipline is, and that needs to be acknowledged and attended to.

Train yourself to say NO. Something being served or offered is no reason to partake. December is no excuse for over_indulgence and gluttony.
