Having a healthy and fast metabolism is what is going to help your body use your food for energy instead of storing it as fat, so that you can get more toned, have more energy and eat more food without putting on fat.⁣

How to be on a diet that you enjoy and is delicious!? ⁣

The biggest surprise my clients get when they get their first meal plan sent to them is how they can have spaghetti, brownies, chocolate and other delicious foods, instead of chicken and rice.⁣

I talk a lot about the 80/20 rule and how you don't have to stick to your diet 27/4.⁣
⁣
But to be honest I don't personally use that rule that much... For me its more like 95/5 Because I LOVE MY HEALTHY DIET!⁣

I get to have my favorite foods every day and I still am toned and healthy no problem.⁣
⁣
**now not to say that ths 80/20 rule isn't good. It most certainly is! But when you have a diet that's healthy and that you enjoy, you don't really want the sugar, chips, cokes ect.**⁣
⁣
So how exactly do I do this? REPLACEMENTS!⁣
⁣
I find a way to replace the not so healthy foods with foods that serve my body better.⁣
⁣
Like with my waffles. I don't t use sugar, milk or white flour. Instead I use protein powder for sweetness (plus more protein💪🏼), almond milk and buckwheat flour (gluten free).⁣
⁣
And I'll telling ya... they taste even better then they look😋⁣
⁣

Should you be eating protein even if you want to get toned and lose weight?⁣

I remember that I used to see Protien shakes and protein powders at my gym , but I never thought I would ever use them.⁣
⁣
Because I would see these huge bulky guys drink protein shakes and I was afriad that protein would make me gain a ton of weight and muscle. Also I heard it was super unhealthy for you and your kidneys.⁣
⁣
Does this sound familiar?⁣
⁣
I know it dose... Because almost every time I talk to women they usually don't know that protein can actually help lose fat and build muscle, and isn't as unhealthy or pointless as they think.⁣
⁣
✅Protien is an essential macro nutrient for your body, building up every cell in the body. It's an important building block of bones, muscles, hair, skin and nails.⁣
⁣
✅ After having a meal with a minimum of 20g of protein you will stay fuller for 3-4 hours and not feel the need to snack in between meals⁣
⁣
✅ You also use protein to make enzymes, hormones, and other important functions in you body.⁣
⁣
When it comes to the healthy amount of protein (just like most things when it comes to nutrition) it all depends on portion control and quality.⁣
⁣
Here are some guidelines how to incorporate protein into your diet in healthy and safe way:⁣
⁣
🔹You want to be aiming for 0.8-1.4g of protein per lbs of lean body mass. Or just start with aiming for a minimum of 100g per day.⁣
🔹Protein becomes unhealthy when we go over the 1.4g/lbs mark, and if you ALREADY have kidney problems - other then that you have absolutely nothing to worry about.⁣
🔹Make sure you are getting a QUALITY source of protein. Get your protein from mostly whole foods.⁣
🔹When it comes to protein powder again make sure it's good quality. The whole "protein powder is bad" story is only true if your protien powder is full of chemicals and fillers. Aim for vegan or Whey Isolate - that is easiest on the digestive system. ⁣

When I first started my health and fitness journey I would always hear⁣
"lower calories = healthy"⁣
"you have to eat less to lose fat"⁣
⁣
No wonder that as young women we adapt the diet mentality (looking at health and fitness through the lens of restrictive diets)⁣

And then we start eating less and less and less, but instead of getting the body of your dreams, you either end up loosing all your curves or the weight just won't drop.⁣
⁣
You get to the point where you start resenting that healthy lifestyle because it's too hard, and it seems like it's just not working for you.⁣
⁣
HERE'S THE TRUTH SISTER FRIEND! ⁣
⁣
You don't always have to eat less to burn fat and build muscle ~ aka get toned.⁣
⁣
If you don't give your body enough food it will go into something called starvation mode - this happens when your body thinks it's starving.⁣
⁣
Your body will hold on to fat to keep its self safe, and not build muscle because well... its starving and dosen't care that you want to get toned. It only cares about keeping you alive!⁣

That's what's really the problem. Not that you're just eating too much calories.⁣

If you want to actually lean out, get toned in a healthy way and eat more food while doing it, your solution is... ⁣

REBUILDING YOUR METABOLISM⁣

And the best way to do that is to go on a reverse diet✨⁣

Ate a little to much on vacation? Feeling puffy, sluggish and lok you gained a couple extra pounds? I feel you girl.⁣⁣

Although #balance is important, especially during vacation sometimes we tend to take advantage of the situation and go a little overboard.⁣⁣

I and definitely feeling those 4 scoops of ice-cream a day.⁣⁣

I used to totally panic and think I needed to to go on a detox diet after my vacation, restrict my calories and double my exercise to reverse the "damage" post vacation.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But after pracating a more holistic approach to nutrition I know that these is no need for that.⁣⁣
⁣⁣

This is what I'm doing to get ride of the bloat and puffiness after that all inclusive buffet:⁣⁣

I'm not doing anything dramatic. Mostly I'm going back to my regular healthy diet 👇🏼⁣⁣
🔸Eating mostly whole and natural foods.⁣⁣
🔸Limiting processed and sugary foods.⁣⁣
🔸Dirnking lots of water and herbal tea's⁣⁣
🔸Taking my supplements and getting back on an 8h sleep schedule ⁣⁣

I remember when I just started my health and fitness journey... I tried eating "clean" aka low carb and low fat with no fun foods.⁣

It was really hard to stick to (just like any diet) and I wasn't seeing the transformation I was wanted. I felt so stuck. I didn't know what else to do.⁣

One night I was watching a YT video of a  girl that was a health coach talking about how she got toned and built her body. I remember being like OMG. How did she do this? What's the secret? I need to know!

Do you ever want to just find out what to eat and what will help you be more healthy and look more toned?

You start searching but there is just so much information out there, that you feel so overwhelmed, so you end up not making any changes to your diet?😬
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been there sister friend. Trust me I how confusing and overwhelming it feels. That's why I'm going to share with you some do's and don'ts when it comes to healthy diets!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔸Don't copy people online! What works for them may making things even worse for you! I fell into that trap before and it SUCKS! So don't do it.
🔸Do start small. Making one small change like giving up sugar in your coffee or adding more protein to you diet goes a long way. You'll be surprised how much progress you can make without felling overwhelmed with one small change.
🔸Don't make any foods off limits. If you eat 80% healthy it's OK to have some chips or a burger, or some cake during the week. You'll still see amazing progress and stay on the right track!
🔸Do plan for success. If you don't plan or prepare you meals in advance you're setting yourself up for failure. No more of that. A simple thing to do is to, prepare your meals for the week on Sunday.

4 things you diet needs for your hormones to be healthy!

If you are feeling tired all the time, have bad digestion, have irregular cycles that is a sign that your hormones that are our if balance, are stopping them from reaching their goals.
That’s because you’re considering your hormone health when starting a diet/ workout routine

If your hormones aren't healthy you WON'T build muscle or get toned‼️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I made this mistake in the past too! To this day I still don't have my hormones completely balanced.😏 Every day I'm working on making sure my healthy lifestyle helps balance my hormones and a huge part of that was changing my diet!

That's why I want to share with you what's I'm doing to balance my hormones, and what you can do to have healthy hormones!
🔸EAT THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FOOD. You won't balance your hormones if you're eating too much /not enough.
🔸Make sure you have a good balance of your macronutrients. Especially healthy fats! You shouldn't be having less than 40g of healthy fat per day. About 25-30% of your daily calories should be coming from fat
🔸Be careful of your sugar intake! I don't mean fruits. I mean white sugar and processed carbs (white bread, white pasta etc.)
🔸Eat your fruits and vegetables! I know it sounds so simple but I promise you, you probably aren't having enough micronutrients to support your hormones.

There is a lot more that goes into making sure you have healthy hormones so you can reach your health and fitness goals, but this👆🏼 is a FUNDAMENTAL part ~ fixing your diet!

The Ultimate Guide to counting macros made simple!

So if you've been following me for a while you'll know I swear by counting macros (for those who don't know go back a couple of my posts and you will find the explanation), and I know counting sounds scary and complicated but trust me it doesn't have to be!
.
So I'm going to share my guide, to make macros work for you, without feeling overwhelmed!
.
1️⃣ Figure out how much calories you should be eating and divide it into 50% carbs, 30% fats and 20% protein
.
2️⃣ Plann out all your meals for 3 days ahead of time! This makes sure that you have a plan in place to hit your macros! Apps like MyFitnessPal and Lifesum are great for this!
.
3️⃣ Make life easier and prepare 3-5 meals in advance that you planned in step 3!
.
I know it looks time consuming, but using this system you will actually SAVE Time, because you won't be wasting time wondering what to eat or having to grab unhealthy food in a rush!

Other useful tips:
🔹I use a food scale and that works best for me, but you can also use measuring cups. There is no right or wrong way!
🔹IT DOSEN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT! The numbers don't have to be to the gram! Remember you aren't doing a competition. Don't let the numbers get in you head! The numbers are just a guide line not a rule✨

Cereal is never a bad option, in my opinion! Huge thanks to @catalinacrunch for sending me some samples of their cereal to try. This cereal is high in fiber, protein and fat. It is considered a #keto cereal! I know keto has been a huge topic of conversation in the last year or so and everyone has their opinions, but for me I think it can be fun to try different types of foods. What I like about this cereal is that it is #PlantBased. A lot of the people I know who do keto eat a TON of animal products. I personally believe that reducing animal products is beneficial for so many things, so if someone on the keto diet can replace their meals with plant based or vegan ones, then that’s awesome. I could continue on about my thoughts on keto, but I’ll stop there with my review of this cereal.
First, I will say I didn’t like it when eaten dry/fresh out of the package. It DEFINITELY needs milk. I would suggest almond milk or coconut almond milk. When eaten dry, it left a bad aftertaste and the bitterness of the cocoa was strong. However, will milk the whole flavor changed. It was surprisingly pretty tasty. I still wouldn’t get it a high rating like marshmallow mateys or cinnamon toasters, BUT for being keto it wasn’t bad. I’d give it a 7/10. Cereal is never a bad option, in my opinion! Huge thanks to @catalinacrunch for sending me some samples of their cereal to try. This cereal is high in fiber, protein and fat. It is considered a #keto cereal!
