What are some of your favorite, open-ended toys for kids?
Magnetic tiles are DEFINITELY one of my top 10.
I ordered a set of @picassotiles years ago when they were on sale on @amazon. One of my best purchases ever!
Since then we've added a couple more sets, along with some magnetic tile windows and the like.
These puppies were a hit with my son, his friends, kids' friends, my preschool students, summer camp kids, and I've been known to dabble in creating with magnetic tiles too!
Oh, and I should mention that they're still a hit now that my son is older.
And there's SO MUCH to love about them. Let me count the ways:
➡ Encourage creativity
➡ Supplement early math learning (shapes, colors, three-dimensions, counting, patterns, etc.)
➡ Great way to explore science (we've used them most in regards to magnetism and lights/shadows)
➡ Can be played with by individuals, pairs, and groups of children
➡ Encourage language development and vocabulary
Okay, I'll stop there. I could probably go on, but there's only so much room here! 😉
