DEADLIFT + DUMBBELL ROW

HOW TO:
Romanian deadlift
(stiff legged BUT with soft knees, meaning: bend them a little bit and keep them in that position the whole time)
➡️ dumbbell row while ‘down’
➡️ 🍑 come back up while squeezing yr glutes

LEVEL: easy

TARGET: hamstrings (biceps femoris long head activation > semitendinosis activation, especially compared to a Nordic Hamstring exercise) 🤓,
glutes and back muscles
➡️ back chain muscles 
REPS: 3x10

TOOLS: DB (2x6kg)

FOCUS: soft knees, shoulder position = retraction (bring yr shoulder blades to each other and down), slow mvmnt

I haven't been posting much lately due to the overwhelming amount of work needed to be done this month.
- New client 30 Dat Challenge.
- Setting up for the online launch of Fit Bomb WOD. - Gathering testimonials from the trial run
- making video tutorials and writing out the weekly emails for both programs - personal training at @cherrybombgaragegym 
Not to mention all "mom" stuff.

It's a lot! It's also where I thrive.
.
Everything is figureoutable. Everything is  doable if you put in the time and do the WORK. .
That's where businesses fail, diets fail, fitness fails, you fail... when you stop doing the work, and damned if Ill be outworked. .
I'm not smarter than anyone. I wasn't handed a business or the cash to build the building I'm in. No, it was a huge risk to take the equity out of our home and build a gym in an industry that clearly shows gyms going out of business daily. I had no idea how to run or grow a business. No schooling, no backers, just shear WILL with a hint of naivety. (or just stupidity)
.
Maybe it wasn't smart because it sure as hell isnt easy.  But guess what? Anything worth doing is going to be hard. And anything worth doing is worth doing wrong, over and over again because that's where the true growth happens. That's where the learning happens, in the mistakes.

Don't let fear stop you from trying.

Be the hardest working one in the room because that's how shit gets done. .
Do the work. .
Be you. Be strong. Be awesome!

Another leg day to start off the week- quad dominant with a little bit of hamstring and calves. ✌🏽

Dumbbell stiff-leg deadlift, explosive positives, controlled negatives.

My tip: While doing the movement, bend your knees slightly and keep your back straight at all times. During negatives, go according to your flexibility- don’t go down further than you are able to. You can try different variations of this exercise by pointing your feet inwards/outwards to target different muscles.

DUMBBELL SNATCH

HOW TO: convenient deadlift + snatch (use your legs to give the dumbbell speed)

LEVEL: medium - hard (coördination makes it hard)

TARGET: Legs (NOT ARMS!) REPS: 3x8/side

TOOLS: Dumbbell (6kg)

FOCUS: your legs do the work, when the dumbbell is above your head, you lower yr body by doing a squat so you will end up with the dumbbell above your head

MY PERFORMANCE: I’m not going into the squat position (last phase of the exercise). The DB is already above my head, meaning it has enough speed. I’m not actively straightening my arm/elbow, which is a good thing. ➡️ conclusion: I should increase the load! 🏋🏼‍♀️

It is definitely easier to find my mistakes with making videos. Learning weight training takes a long time but I see little bit of progress.

Love getting that pump from doing weights especially on your arms 💪 doing half reps then into full reps then back to half & full again it really works your biceps hard. 
A great exercise to go with your back day give it a go try
