🚡Skyliner News Update🚡
The Skyliners at Walt Disney World will resume operation from 8 am - 10:30 pm today, after a week of closures due to an incident that left some riders stranded for 3 hours last weekend. A modified schedule of 1 pm - 10:30 pm, with some line closures, will occur later this week, so be sure to check the schedule if you plan to go for a ride!
When we rode the Skyliner last weekend, I had planned to share lots of tips so now I can finally share!
Tips for riding:
- There are three separate routes to take: Epcot to Riviera Resort and Caribbean Beach Resort, Caribbean Beach to Hollywood Studios, and Caribbean Beach to Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Resort.
- The Caribbean Beach Station is essentially the “Grand Central” station. Here, you can change between the different lines to get between the different resorts and parks.
- Try to get a NON-character themed car. The character cars are wrapped in a film that disrupts the lovely views.
- Crowds/ Lines are much longer after the Epcot and Hollywood Studios fireworks end, but the line goes quickly and it’s still much faster than walking to the buses at Epcot!
-Lines are short during the day, so you’re much more likely to have a whole gondola to yourself. Otherwise, you can expect to share a car with other riders.
-The cars have window vents at the top that you can open (if they aren’t already) for a nice breeze. Even though there’s no air-conditioning, the cars generally have great air flow except for a few moments of loading/ unloading.
Hope these tips help you maximize your experience on your next trip! I look forward to riding these again in the future... will you be riding anytime soon? ✨
