This week while spending time with the Lord, He showed me a picture of glasses. How are you viewing Him & your life? We can have a distorted view of God's word depending on what lens we use.
For an example, if you had a rough childhood and your parents disciplined you harshly... they didn't practice grace in the home... You would view God in that same lense. You would think He "disciplines" you with the same measure.
For me personally, I had abandonment issues and anytime I "messed up" in my walk, I would subconsciously think, well you did it now Monica, God's gonna leave you. It was a vicious cycle but God being a good Father sent great friends to show me, no this is what grace, mercy and love looks like. I know now, I can be happy, I can be sad, I can be MAD and HE'S NEVER GONNA LEAVE ME!
This is the junk that can cause our perception to deceive us. Our discernment will be off!
Perception means, the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
Have you ever wondered if your past offenses, hurts, bitterness etc can be the scratches, finger prints or fogginess in your lenses?
It's interesting how at times, one offense can ☁️ our vision to see the Gold in others.
In this Spirit led life, we have to have our lenses cleansed daily. Otherwise, we will only be able to see with distorted vision or our focus stuck on the muck.
Ask Him to view others the way He views them.
