Also - ich weiß ja nicht, was mein Sohn letzte Nacht so gemacht hat, aber sein Zucker hat getanzt 🤣

Das ist übrigens eine der wenigen guten Nächte momentan. Seit ein paar Monaten spüren wir die Pubertät mächtig gewaltig.

Solche Kurven sind in der Regel nur mit mindestens zweimaligem nächtlichen Aufstehen meinerseits zu erreichen. Und nein, ich schaffe das nicht immer. Dann ist eben auch mal anders. Balance, heißt das Zauberwort.

An alle, die wie wir heute wieder den ersten Schultag haben - Good Luck!

In obese and overweight individuals, low glycemic index meals increase satiety and facilitate the control of food intake. Selecting low glycemic index foods has also demonstrated benefits for HEALTHY PERSONS in terms of post-prandial glucose and lipid metabolism. Numerous studies report change to low glycemic index (GI) fruits significantly reduced HbA1c, systolic blood pressure and CHD risk. Changes to a low glycemic index diets often result in rapid weight loss, decrease of fasting glucose and insulin levels, reduction of circulating triglyceride levels and improvement of blood pressure.

The GI of food varies depending on rate of digestion. The faster the digestion, the higher the GI value (High GI: >70). Food with low GI is defined as food with GI value <70. GI is affected by a number of factors: 
1. Type of carb (glucose, 138; maltose, 105; saccharose, 75; fructose, 30).
2. Fat and protein content (lower GI associated with slowing of gastric emptying).
3. Acidity affects gastric emptying, the addition of citric acid or other fruits lowers GI
4. Physical properties of food (water content)
5. Presences of viscous soluble fibers; ripeness, cooking or processing that renders the carbohydrate more digestible (starch) will increase the GI 
6. The presence of other factors (insoluble fiber as found in whole intact grains) that slow absorption of the carbohydrate

I left the #diabetic label for last to point out one thing, I'm just like every other person. When I was first diagnosed, I hated the label. I felt like I walked around with a stamp on my forehead, thinking that I'd be outcasted for the rest of my life. I shortly realized that there is no way I could let that title bring me down. So, I instead turned it into motivation and completely amped up my game in regards to health and wellness. I created this instagram to hopefully inspire and give hope to diabetics that may be struggling with their condition, like I was. I believe in sharing your success with others.
