Had so much fun reviving Team SkillzAttack and competing together with bff @karlonorg at @the.yard.games!  Loved the workouts, loved the support, loved the banter (I believe the last picture  is @tornjamo telling me to look up when doing deadlifts; solid advice, Tor!). Definitely was a little sore the following days, but I have already set my sights on the next comp!

Platz 5 und 10 für Deutschland 
In der Kniebeuge musste Cathrin Federn lassen. Im ersten Versuch hatte sie Probleme die Hantel zu fixieren und dann fehlte es etwas an Tiefe. Nur der zweite Versuch über 235 kg ging in die Wertung, bei fünf Kilo mehr waren die Kampfrichterinnen wieder nicht mit Beugetiefe zufrieden.
Marie steigerte ihre persönliche Bestleistung, nach guten 205 kg wollten 212.5 kg nicht in die Wertung. Mit 2.5 kg mehr aber war die Tiefe machbar und damit ein neuer Bestwert.

Auch im Bankdrücken konnte Cathrin nur den zweiten Versuch über 145 kg gültig drücken. In Runde eins rutschen ihre Füße und sie verlor die Körperspannung. Im dritten Durchgang spielte die rechte Schulter nicht mehr mit.Marie legte hier ebenfalls Kilo auf ihre Bestleistung drauf 127.5 und 132.5 kg ging in die Wertung nur der letzte Versuch mit 135 war an diesem Tag zu schwer.

Im Kreuzheben zog Cathrin sich von 200 kg zu 210 kg. Der dritte Durchgang mit 220 kg war an diesem Tag zu viel des Guten. Marie setzte drei einwandfreie Versuche mit 160, 167.5 und 172,5 kg. Bronze im Einzel ging hier an leichtgewichtige Dänin Bak mit 220 kg 
Im Total kam Cathrin auf 590 kg und den fünften Rang. Marie schraubte ihre Bestleistung auf 520 kg und belegte damit Platz zehn.

If anyone ever wonders what the true benefits of the heavy deadlift is, for me it’s been an absolute game changer. I’ve always loved the bench press. I don’t even really think about it anymore. Why?? Ever since I put majority of my focus and energy into heavy deadlifts, the benefits of being able to generate maximum force utilising my quads, glutes and lats working as one singular unit has been incredible. It’s been crucial to my overall strength gain and has really increased my courage and confidence to tackle heavy weights that would normally intimidate me. 
Deadlift. That is all.
