The warmer weather had us craving a favorite summer treat... açaí bowls! 🍌🍓🥥But traditional bowls are filled with added sugars and carbs (over 100g!) so we did some research & found the perfect DIY Macro Friendly version 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Açaí Bowl Base
- 6 TSP Freeze Dried Organic Acai Powder (Amazon find - PURE Acai and only $12 for a bag!)
- 140g frozen strawberries
- 120ml unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop quest vanilla protein powder
- A couple ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy!
Toppings:
- 8g unsweetened coconut flakes
- 40g banana
- 40g strawberries
- 16g almond butter

Base Serving: 25P / 28C / 4F
With Toppings: 30P / 60C / 25F

O M G 🔥🍤 these Chile Lime Shrimp Bowls were d e l i c i o u s & so easy. Right up my alley!! Use this shrimp for bowls, salads, tacos.. so many options🤗

Chile Lime Shrimp:
- 2 pounds shrimp (we got the frozen Costco bag...about 800 grams when peeled)
- 2 TSP chili powder & salt (each)
- 1 TSP onion powder & garlic powder (each)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 30g lime juice
- 7g olive oil & honey (each)
- Pinch of cayenne (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a ziplock and marinade for no more than 30 mins. Heat a skillet with olive oil spray and cook shrimp 2-3 mins per side! 
DIY Shrimp Bowls:
- 200g Chile Lime shrimp🍤
- 1 cup brown rice
- 45g avocado🥑
- 14g cotija cheese
- 30g mango salsa 🥭🍅
- 1/2 cup shredded iceberg🥬
- 30g Jalapeño Avocado Caesar🥑 (so good... SWIPE FOR RECIPE! Simply combine everything in a blender)

Per Serving: 41P / 38C / 15F

Pro Tip: need a low carb version? Swap the rice for cauliflower rice or make this into a shrimp Caesar salad!

Carbs are your body’s preferred source of energy. Carbs are stored in your muscles as glycogen which is used for energy, which means better performance. Eating carbs in the right proportion & at the right time will keep your brain and muscles feeling strong and fresh!

There are a few major things we love about carbs:
* 	When you’re training, carbs are the macronutrient that is most readily available for your body. 🏋🏻‍♂️ Carbs pre workout are essential!
* 	Carbohydrates also replenish your depleted glycogen stores after a hard workout. ⚡️ This supports better performance and recovery for athletes involved in high-intensity training.

- Instant Pot Shredded Chicken (we did about 2 pounds of tenderloins with 1 cup salsa verde, 1/2 diced onion, spices to taste)
- 100 grams Greek Yogurt Cream Cheese (low/non fat CC will also work!)
- 12 Mission Extra Thin Corn Tortillas
- 180g TJ Enchilada Sauce
- 56g reduced fat Mexican cheese
- Top with avocado, fat free sour cream, and more sauce if your macros allow! We added 30g sauce, 1 serving light sour cream, and 50g avo

Serves 2 of us (all split 50/50 into two trays of 6 Enchiladas)!
Per Serving: 65P / 75C / 27F (with toppings) 
Instructions: Combine the shredded chicken and cream cheese while the oven preheats to 425. Heat your tortillas in a ziplock for 20-30 seconds in the microwave so they are easy to manipulate. Weigh your chicken mixture to portion the Enchiladas evenly and roll em up! Cover with enchilada sauce and cheese and bake 10-15 minutes. Add your favorite toppings - we did light sour cream, avocado slices, and some more sauce!

Let’s talk consistency🗓🔒
How many of us have been told in the gym that consistency is they key?🔑 That if you “just show up” even when you’re tired, stressed, working long hours... you can still improve? Not every workout is going to feel great. You aren’t always going to perform your best. You won’t hit a PR every time. But by being consistent, you are still working on your fitness goals by walking through the door.

The exact same concept goes for your nutrition. 🔑 🥦🍗Your nutrition won’t be perfect every day - the same reasons you could skip the gym are even more abundant when it comes to nutrition - work, friends, parties, family, kids, emotional eating... there will always be obstacles that can keep us from hitting our macros perfectly every day. But consistently putting forth the effort to do your best, learn, be kind to yourself, and focus only on what you can control, you WILL make progress!

Small changes add up and consistency will make you progress faster than perfection 📈

It’s Thursday rest day which means it’s time for another easy & BOMB recipe!!!🍠🍽🥩💥 we love experimenting with our cast iron skillet & love meals that aren’t chicken. Enjoy! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Cast Iron Pork Tenderloin with Brussels Sprouts and Sweet Potatoes!
- 1 Trader Joe’s Peppercorn Garlic Pork Tenderloin (ours was 17 ounces)
- 350 grams peeled, chopped sweet potatoes
- 500 grams halved Brussels sprouts
- 50 grams diced onion
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt, pepper, garlic & onion powders to taste

Served 2 of us (Sarah was hungry)! Per Serving: 61P / 54C / 23F

Instructions: heat 1 tbsp oil in cast iron skillet on stove top while the oven preheats to 375. Add the onion/brussels/potatoes and cook until browned, stirring frequently. Add the remaining oil & pork and brown both sides in the pan. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, until meat is cooked thoroughly and veggies are tender. Let rest 5 minutes and serve!

Enjoy! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Cast Iron Pork Tenderloin with Brussels Sprouts and Sweet Potatoes! - 1 Trader Joe’s Peppercorn Garlic Pork Tenderloin (ours was 17 ounces) - 350 grams peeled, chopped sweet potatoes - 500 grams halved Brussels sprouts - 50 grams diced onion - 2 tbsp oil - Salt, pepper, garlic & onion powders to taste Served 2 of us (Sarah was hungry)! Per Serving: 61P / 54C / 23F Instructions: heat 1 tbsp oil in cast iron skillet on stove top while the oven preheats to 375. Add the onion/brussels/potatoes and cook until browned, stirring frequently. Add the remaining oil & pork and brown both sides in the pan. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, until meat is cooked thoroughly and veggies are tender. Let rest 5 minutes and serve! Total time was only 45 minutes!
