The Gables // 1773 // Originally built as a Georgian farmhouse, this building and the grounds were purchased by Roxanna Meade, who shortly afterward married Daniel Drew, who’s son built the home in the last post.
Later, the property was bought by Seth Howe, a real estate magnate, who was also the accountant for the Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus. It was likely at this time that most of the Victorian era alterations were done to the home. The building is now part of the Delancey Street Foundation. - 7 hours ago
