Found a 2017 video of deficit deadlifts which was probably the last time I actually had them in a programme. I tried them again today @ 70kg and I felt gassed.. classic me nearly fainted 😂 Funny really because I’m lifting heavier and for more reps back then than I am now and probably at an easier RPE... but i’d like to think the technical improvements are clear to see to someone not quite as anally obsessive about technique as I am. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Day 1 of prep for euros and god damn was it a good one 🔥235x5@6 and 245x5@7.5 as 2 of 5 sets on squat between 230-245, and my final set on close grip, 135x5@6. Week 1 is normally pretty poor, especially on squat and last block the heaviest I went during prep for juniors was 250x4@9 so this is extremely promising. While sat on a bike today for ages thinking about how I need to drop some kegs, had a wee look back at a picture that was taken in 2013 after I dropped about 30kg. Currently weigh 2kg more than in that picture but am a lot happier being in a crop top now than I was then, even without the special lighting and fake tan (yes I am wearing fake tan in the first picture fml how can I still look so translucent). Still going to chip away at some cutting cause I feel like I now might have some muscles hiding that could make an appearance with a wee bit of effort, and also cause I would like to eat many advent calendars without having to change weight class. Nice to see a different kind of progress though. ....
Also what the fuck was my 2013 hair and why did nobody intervene at the time.

So birthday squats overall went well, I do need to work on depth a bit more but it was just a bit of fun today. Back to a similar protocol to the block I made good progress with this week. On a top 3@9 for Sbd. Today was squat and bench and it went fantastic. Dropped my top squat slightly as it was loads more than I'd ever done but got a PB triple on both top sets! I absolutely love this  @eleikosport rack, plates and bar at @modified.fitness. The highest standard equipment you'll see in the country and there's more coming!

I have performed many exercises and many variations over the past decade. I keep a list of the more challenging ones and have a flick through it when I feel like inflicting them on people. This week I've been rolling out single arm planks across the board. An absolutely dreadful version of ye olde static ab isometrics. Namely because you're balancing on one arm and offsetting your balace further by putting the other behind your back. I've seen people put their hands behind their back holding compact 10kg plates... Here's @mizzred tonight just not letting it this one get the best of her!

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for a littlee more, but due being 5-10mins late for the start of weigh-ins because of the floods& then upon arriving finding that the Comp start time was pushed forward 30mins, left me with about 85mins to rehydrate & replenish playing it very safe was the only option for the day🔒

Day one of being back to normal training today...still have 4/5 more weeks of squat rehab protocol...but everything else is back to normal. I've lost a lot of muscle being away from proper training for over a month....but  we're still setting our sites on the British and Europeans so gotta get that bread. 4x10 @ 90kg bench is all I recorded
