#flexfriday time!

Back to #bbg this week as I found the later weeks of #pwrathome difficult to maintain as it went from three (doable) to four (doable but a stretch some weeks) to five (made my brain explode) and although it said workouts were optional, I still found it stressful. 
I will take some of the #plyometrics with a grain of salt. If I find weighted #squats more beneficial to me than jump squats, I’ll change it up. I’m enjoying the benefits of nearly two years working out now- I know how and when to modify or swap out an exercise if it’s not working for me. #power

What is the main driver of muscle growth?

We know that there are 3 factors involved (mechanical tension, metabolic stress, and muscle damange), but the key factor is mechanical tension. -

This is why progressive overload is so important as it is a way to induce a new stress over and over again.

This causes muscles do supercompensate over time and become bigger and stronger. -

The best way to implement progressive overload is by incrementaly increasing the weight or repetitions over time. In most cases, the most realistic approach is to have a rep target for each exercise and to only increase the weight when you reached that rep target. -

As you get stronger, you increase the load on the bar, which increases mechanical tension. As a result, you have more muscle growth. -

This is why changing exercises all the time makes it difficult to track any progression. Pick your exercises and stick to them for at least 2-3 months before you decide to switch to another one.

Be sure to not use super heavy weight when doing these exercises or your form will compensate and therefore give you less biceps growth. I’m not saying to lift light weights either, I would use moderate levels of weight that aren’t too heavy, but also aren’t too light. .

1️⃣Perform [10] Seated DB curls.
2️⃣No rest.
3️⃣Stand up and perform [8-10] Standing alternating DB curls per arm.
✅4 sets total.

2️⃣Reduce weight 10-20lbs.

💪🏼 FULL ARM WORKOUT 💪🏼 Let’s be honest, if you want bigger and stronger arms you need to train them directly.

Some will say that you don’t and that with all other major lifts they’ll get enough stimuli. 
Sure, you’ll get enough m, but not if you want to add inches on them more efficiently and faster.

However, train smart not more. Strategize when you’ll train them throughout your week so you aren’t doing them before a big push or pull workout. 👇🏼 For this specific workout:
Keep your rest interval shorter: 60 seconds or less. This will ensure a heck 🔥 of a pump.

Stretch between those sets. That stretch between sets can help that muscle growth and more importantly prevent and range of motion problems as you grow your arms.

Finally...3-4 sets of each exercise is enough. Try to perform this workout in less than an hour.
