👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻You think you isolate because other acupuncturists are your competition, but really you isolate because you’ve never had a safe, positive, and supportive space.
Isolating often stems from feeling fearful.
✔️Fearful of being vulnerable with what you’re struggling with.
✔️Fearful of being judged.
✔️Fearful of looking dumb.
✔️Fearful of having a silly question.
✔️Fearful of being the only one that is struggling.
Running our practices from a place of fear and isolation has the capacity to completely stagnate our progress and leave us struggling for years.
I know because this was me the first two years in practice.
Isolated, barely making enough money, feeling helpless, confused, and wondering if I’d make a mistake becoming an acupuncturist because I felt like it was impossible to make a living.
And now, as a coach, I coach acupuncturists who have been in this stagnant phase sometimes for decades. 10, 20, 25 years!
Isolating yourself is so dangerous because you can be making just enough money to squeak by, so you don’t seek help because you think you’ve “made it”.
You don’t know any other acupuncturist doing better than you, so you go on doing “okay" in your practice, working hard, never having excess money, feeling burnt out, feeling unsatisfied, never taking time off from the office, and going through the motions with your patients for years!
Once I stopped isolating myself my business began to blossom. I experienced the power of a community and it wasn't at all what I thought it would be like.
✅When I thought I would be judged, I was met with compassion and encouragement.
✅When I thought I would be the only one struggling, I bonded with others who were or had gone through exactly what I was going through.
✅Where I formerly associated fear with vulnerability, I began to associate strength.
✅And more and more and more.
I completely redefined what it meant to connect into a support community, gained a completely new mindset, and started to shift everything in my business success.
Now this can’t just be any community where you gain support like this, we’ll talk more about that this week.
