Apple Power Macnitosh 7100/80.
Way before iPhone Apple use to sell these PC’s in India in mid 90s, which also introduced the internet in 1994 before VSNL in Aug 1995 in India. It was possible only through apple subscription based service called as “e-world” which was costing around Rs 636/- per month in 1994 which is a very bid deal at that time. Users accessed eWorld through custom client software written by Apple on a floppy disk and connected using a traditional dial-up modem hooked to a telephone line. It was basically a VSNL number, connecting them to the British telecom network (no credit card no international calling). And a handful of beta users in India had been using that number to log on to eWorld which includes Shammi Kapoor. Upon connecting to the service, the eWorld software displayed a playfully-illustrated portal containing articles, chat rooms, discussion boards, email etc. Started in June 1994, eWorld suffered from lack of marketing and promotion from Apple and also stiff competition from AOL and MSN leads to its demise in 1996. As of September 2019, 23 years after discontinuation, access to eWorld.com website will still automatically redirect you to apple.com homepage.
