Wanted to do this for a while, but I struggle to get up and out the door unless I have to for work. 6am, headtorch was on, and I was out over #cannockchase to catch the sunrise.

Escorted off a train. Touching a muselm lady's leg. Living in the salvation army. Star of a bolywood movie. Im totally convinced im the inventor of the selfie. Why I didn’t share my weekly ‘What I Eat Wednesday’ this week—because I am sick and it’s not a good representation of what I normally eat. I used to watch other influencers YouTube videos or IG posts about what they eat in a day & think to myself that I need to be eating less. If she looks the way she does eating 1,500 calories, that’s what I needed to do, too. I was so so wrong. Of course I could never stick to that sort of ‘diet’ because that was just far too little for me to be eating. ⠀

You might have noticed that I don’t share exact measurements of each ingredient. I do this because what I need is most likely not what you need. And it changes a lot. Our bodies need different macronutrients depending on our age, sex, weight, height, body composition, goals, training schedule, etc. This list is INFINITE. ⠀

I spent far too much of my life thinking the way to get the body I wanted was to eat as little as possible. FOOD IS FUEL FOR YOUR BODY. We need to eat to live. To build muscle. For energy. We. Need. To. Eat. It’s time to get the “less is more” attitude out of your head and start listening to your body & fueling it with nutrient-dense foods. 🥑🍏🥒🥬🍐🥦⠀

BIG LEG SESSION 🔥🦵🔥

We took legs to the next level tonight and I finally got round to getting a baseline weight to start progressing my standard deadlift
.
You'll notice on the deadlifts I use an alternate grip; this grip is really effective in helping those (like myself) lift heavier without having to focus on simply keeping hold of the weight.
.
Definitely worth giving it a go if grip is something you struggle with.

Or... do more forearm exercises 💪

🔥 Deadlift | 5 sets | 8-12 reps

🔥 Leg press | 5 sets | 8-12 reps (wide stance) 🔥LAST SET DROP SET🔥

🔥 Quad extensions | 3 sets | 10 reps left, 10 reps right, *increase weight 25%* 10 reps both legs

🔥 Calf raises | 5 sets | 8-12 reps

Personally if I did that workout again I'd increase the deadlift weight and aim for the lower end of the rep range, making sure you get 8 and try to grind out 9 and 10

Haven’t posted or want to post for a while. I have been sick physically with a nasty cold and also mentally with struggling with anxiety and body dysmorphia! ⁣

Should you be doing cardio or weights?🏃🏻‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️
A common misconception amongst people looking to lose fat is that cardio is the way forward and you should do lots and lots of it in order to meet your goals. The reality is that it’s not necessarily true and combining a mixture of weight based training and cardio will get you the best results✅
Although doing intense cardio will burn far more calories per session and therefore make it easier for you to be in a calorie deficit and lose weight, weight training can in lots of ways be more effective in helping you lose weight and look toned💪🏼
One reason why weight training can help you lose weight faster is that weight training helps you grow more muscle, and while resting, muscle burns more calories than fat and other tissues in the body. So although cardio will burn more calories per session, having more muscle will burn more calories when you’re not exercising and also increase your metabolism⏫
Another benefit to adding in a couple of weight sessions in to your training split to help you lose weight is that you can target specific muscles or areas you would like to improve e.g. upper body weight sessions to help tone up your arms✔️
Also, instead of going on a long run 3-4 times a week, you could also replace one of those cardio sessions with a HITT workout (high intensity interval training). This will mix up your weekly routine a bit to make it more interesting and you can burn more calories in a 20 minute HITT session than a 20 minute cardio session🙌🏼
