Look for the positives! .

When trying to change your physique your mindset will play a fundamental role. This is a journey that lasts years if not forever so you HAVE to learn to enjoy the process and find the positives of each stage. .

Want to build muscle? Stop worrying about the extra fat gain and less definition and start looking at your progress in the gym sky rocket, your energy levels being crazy high and the fact that 99% of the time you're in a t shirt or more and being bigger looks better in clothes to the majority of people. .

Want to lose fat? Stop worrying about feeling skinny and being a bit hungry. Start seeing the visual differences in appearance change quickly and uncovering your progress through the previous months and potentially getting fitter than before. .

Here I am in my massing phase... still a long way to go as I want to build a lot more muscle and I'm not going to do that by trying to stay lean. Obviously be sensible about things but trying to look at each stage in a different way can really help your adherence to a phase ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป .

I love this quote (often attributed to Aristotle, actually it was the American writer Will Durant) .

But back to my point. Everyone is in such a rush for results .

The diet/fitness industry loves to sell us a 12 week plan, an 8 week plan, hell even a 4 week plan.  And yes, if you throw yourself into it full throttle, you will see results in a short space of time .

But to sustain those results you have to change your behaviour for good. You don't get long term results from a 'one off' bout of effort .

Do me a favour and forget about the goal for a while .

Focus instead on the small helpful actions .

Do them consistently, day in, day out until they become second nature .

Trust me- this is how you get to the goal! .

And your efforts will be sustainable and your results will be longlasting .

This isn't jusy some airy fairy bollocks. There are proven methods you can use to build new habits, or to change/eliminate unhelpful ones .

If you are a beginner, you can take advantage of the first year of growth with very minimal days at the gym and focusing on compound movements. These first years you should be focused on getting stronger at the big compound exercises. No need to over complicate things when you can make phenomenal changes in a very short time with three full body workouts.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

As a intermediate lifter, you could get in more volume and add in more exercises with some additional accessory movements with the compounds. This is my current split btw, I love not living in the gym and still making progress, a perfect balance for myself.โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €

Do u need to cut out any food out of your diet when your goal is fat loss?? The answer is: NO

There is no reason for food restriction when you are after fat loss. You don't need to cut out dairy products unless u got an intolerance. U don't need to cut out carbs unless u prefer a keto diet. It is still important to have a variety of food choices. U can have the same food as when your goal is to build muscle but just have less of it when u are after fat loss. Yes u can still have bread, a slice of pizza, or a scoop of ice cream and still loose weight. You just have to be smarter with your food choices and the portion size of it. As long as u hit a cal deficit no matter what u eat u will be fine!! The problem why people struggle with fat loss is that they eat more than they think they are because they don't track everything..and at the end of the day it sums up if they are only tracking half of the things they are eating/drinking.
