Cardio Flow has always been my least favorite workout of this program (and possibly of all time). For Phase 3, it’s now on Tuesdays instead of Saturdays. I’m not quite sure how I feel about that. I guess it’ll be nice to get it over with - I’m sort of forced to get it done in the morning before work, instead of dreading it all weekend and procrastinating. This phase also throws in a new challenge (of course, because each phase has to get harder). The first round has always had 10 movies that go in a snake pattern - so, 1, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4, etc. - with 4-6 reps each (Phase 1 was 4 reps, Phase 2 was 6), until you get up to the 10th move. After that, previously we then did 2 full rounds of all the moves, without the snaking. Well this phase, it’s back to 4 reps, but it’s no longer 2 full rounds after. It’s not even 3 or 4 — it’s EIGHT. HOLY. CRAP. I definitely had to pause several times. I am dead. 🥵

One thing I’ve learned while setting out on this journey a couple of years ago is that going package-free is certainly the best option. If that’s not possible, training the brain to find foods in paper (post-consumer recycled would be fab!), glass, or aluminum are great options, too!
.
For produce, I look for fruits and veggies that aren’t wrapped in plastic (I also put them into reusable produce bags from @earthwisebags and @creations_saksac). The stickers are too small to be recycled through our communities, so I’ll toss them into my “Kitchen Separation Zero Waste Box” by @terracycle.
.
As for the kalamata olives, they luckily seem to come in glass most of the time. We still can’t get away from the convenience of shredded cheese, so this bag will also be put in @terracycle’s zero-waste box. The @kerrygoldusa butter is in aluminum, and the bar soap by @lovebeautyandplanet is fully wrapped in paper.

I made sure to buy cereal that had the @how2recycle symbol on the bottom of the box. This tells me that the inside plastic bag can be dropped off at a grocery store for recycling (and that the box itself can be recycled normally).

Taking on this lifestyle has been a challenge, no doubt! But I’m constantly learning how to avoid sending things to landfill, keeping my brain healthy, and doing my little part to make our home just a little cleaner!

Got it done this morning. Wasn’t sure how it would go because I had my annual physical yesterday and it included my tetanus booster shot, so this arm is pretty sore today. Plus, this workout was 2x15s with burnout rounds. So I definitely had to lighten the weights a bit. But hey, making it work and getting it done!

Find a way to be accountable.

It's so easy for me to just quit.

If it takes sweat, uncomfortable feeling and especially if it rains outside, or even worse, snows.

So that's what happened most times when I tried to form a habit of exercise before.

This time I decided to post to social media (read: facebook) to publicly embarras myself if I'd quit.

Just kidding.

The embarrasment part wasn't true, kind of.

But yes, I actually posted just random "run 1/21 done" to my social media page.

Then that created a needed pressure for me to just keep on going with my goal, even during the freezing Nordic season, called Winter.

How could you find a way to be accountable?

Think of the best and easiest way.

If it's too complicated, let's say you have to call a friend every time and tell them you went running, maybe you make it too hard for yourself.

Know yourself in this one.

Put a little pressure on yourself, if you need it.

I did and got huge push from my posts.

Even when hardly anyone knew exactly what my running posts meant.

Look at these people around me in Spain last Summer.

Like in this picture, I got a feeling from my posts, that my running was seen by others and I ran because I thought about them as well and not just me.

Other people seeing what I do just helps my personality type to get things done, if something is really, really hard. 
So that's the why behind the scenes.

Use this trick, if you like the idea of getting some needed encouragement.

And make it look like you.

Maybe it's a friend you share your goal with.

You'll probably loose nothing from doing this.

And can gain some sweet momentum for your goal.

Har haft en skøn dag. ❤️ Først på job og tidligt hjemme, ude og gå en laaaang tur med hundene, et øde sted, hvor de kunne løbe frit og udforske ligeså tosset de havde lyst til. En lille lur da vi kom hjem, og når man putter med vufferne sover man altså dejligt! Jeg prøver for tiden at ændre min livsstil. Sund mad og gode vaner skal være en fast bestanddel af mit liv nu og i fremtiden. Det er super hårdt! This morning was rough. And I don’t mean because of the workout (although it was a tough one, but in a good way). I’m not sure if it’s because it’s Monday, or if I ate something bad yesterday, or allergies, or all of the above - but about 10 minutes in I got a headache and stomach ache and had to stop. I took some meds to help with the headache/allergies, rested a bit to try to bring my heart rate down, and decided to go ahead and eat my breakfast (even though I usually don’t like to eat right before a workout). It seemed to help and about 30 minutes later I was able to jump back in and finish the workout. It was frustrating on many levels, including the fact that I actually got up and got ready on time, but then all of this made me run late anyway. 🤷‍♀️ Then to top it all off, I realized a bit of the way through that I’d put my sports bra on inside out, and my watch died about halfway through so I couldn’t track all of my workout. I think those last two ARE because it’s Monday. 🤣 Oh well, can’t win ‘em all. At least I got it done.

It was frustrating on many levels, including the fact that I actually got up and got ready on time, but then all of this made me run late anyway. 🤷‍♀️ Then to top it all off, I realized a bit of the way through that I’d put my sports bra on inside out, and my watch died about halfway through so I couldn’t track all of my workout. I think those last two ARE because it’s Monday. 🤣 Oh well, can’t win ‘em all.
