You’d be suprised Tawau, Sabah has its own Canopy Walk at Bukit Gemok (Gemok Hills) Reserve Forest with 231m long. It took about 2hrs & 1.4km hiking (with kids) to reach the canopy from the main station, Pusat Sejadi. You can see stunning scenery spans the Tawau town centre, the picturesque coastline & Sebatik Island (owned by 2 countries 🇲🇾🇲🇨) from the canopy deck. Plus along the trail, you can easily spot Borneo rainforest millipedes 🐛 crawling on the ground or dead woods.
I advised to go hiking early in the morning to avoid crowd & young hikers that tend to climb faster & please do let them pass you 😂. Despite you have to pay RM5 for admission, everything is your own risk. Take note that the main gate will closed & locked in the afternoon 😳 eventho the opening hours is still on.
