I’ve been replacing my stairmaster Netflix with 30 mins of TedTalks, motivation/insightful podcasts, videos that teach me something pertaining to life or one of my jobs.

I’ve been replacing my bedtime scrolls through social media feeds with reading a good book.

I’ve been more open to Criticism (Which is something I have always been terrible at) facing it head on. Owning it. Trying to admit my faults without argument/justification or without feeling like a total failure. Asking for help. Analyzing, reflecting, coming up with ways to improve and implement change in order to become better.. and stronger... ◾️

I’ve been kinder to my body. learning to accept and love  it through its constant changes... for how strong it has been. How far it has carried me. The pain it’s endured, the goals it has yet to withstand, What it is capable of.

I’ve been replacing negative thoughts with more positive ones. Looking at life’s daily tasks as a privilege rather than a chore.

I’ve been doing things NOW instead of “later”.
Taking risks... putting myself out there.

Small changes when you look at them one by one. 
But let me tell you, my
Life has started to significantly change.
I feel more accomplished, I feel more empowered over my life, more confident, more motivated.

Do not underestimate the power of the mind, the impact those ‘minor’ day to day {negative} thoughts or habits can have, and your ability to to change your life into exactly what you want.
You just have to be willing to step away from what’s familiar. Make yourself a little bit uncomfortable for a while. Put in the work!
Stop putting things off until it’s the “right time”. Because when is that, really? 
Start now.... Start by changing just one thing... then another, and another. Most importantly, change you way of thinking! #positivethoughts

Today marks week 4 of the #mytransphormationstartstoday challenge. I can definitely say today's measurements were 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜!! ⁣

Today's measurements came in at 113lbs, waist 25in and hips 35in. For those who have been following me for some time now know it hasn't been an easy ride for me to drop weight. In fact it's been more like a roller coaster🤦‍♀️. ⁣

However today's measurements are a new low and I couldn't be more prouder of myself for sticking to the workouts, macros and cardio. It hasn't been easy but what's worth it never is😘.⁣

New training block month 4 working with Coach @sdangerfit who customizes them for my body & my goals👊⁣
Current goal is to build muscle and decrease cardio so that I can use all my energy to lift heavy and making sure my muscles recover quicker so each day I hit the gym I can give it 100%. ⁣

These works are so intense but I LOVE them, I wake up motivated the 6 days a week I train!⁣
My heart rate is up the entire time and instead of focusing on the calories I burned and endless amounts of cardio, I am lifting heavy, focusing on tempo and form!⁣

Monday’s Push: (chest, triceps, shoulders) + 12 min HITT intervals on the stair master⁣
Tuesday’s Legs: (heavy 1 week 4x8 reps) the following week I hit them lighter but higher reps (3x12)⁣
Wednesday’s Pull: (back, biceps, hamstrings)⁣
Thursday’s Power: lower reps with heavy weight & body weight HITT exercises⁣
Friday’s Upper body: mix of every muscle⁣
Saturday’s Lower body: mix of exercises (from 1st leg day)

Cardio was decreased this new block from 42 minutes a week with 2 sessions : one steady state 30 min & 12 mint HITT ⁣
to now just the one 12 min HITT session. ⁣
Decreasing cardio is a tad scary but I know I need it to build that lean muscle.⁣

Current step goal is at least 15,000 a day!⁣

Its simple. Focus on your training & macros. Be consistent and that will get your results. ⁣

Yesterday was a good day got to spend the morning fishing with my beautiful wife @maria143h then got a clean hair cut from cutting edge barber in Yuma. Then off for a good chest pump...then I noticed my quad game was tight.....lol....had to get a picture. 
75 hard is still going and I can see the end and to be honest I can't wait to take a warm shower again lol and drink some whiskey. It's been a Journey..thank you to my beautiful wife for walking with me and keeping me company on my evening walks.

The gym is my happy place. It’s my stress reliever & my alone time. The gym is my favorite part about my day, so this is my current workout split🤪

Monday: bis/tris 
Tuesday: legs (hamstring and quad focused) 
Wednesday: shoulders (FAVORITE day) 
Thursday: legs (glute focused) 
Friday: back 
Saturday: full body or cardio day 
Sunday: rest day 
I’ve changed my workouts up a lot this past year & have increased intensity to reach my goals because this summer in Florida did not go as planned, fitness wise, but we’re thriving at the gym

At my heaviest I was 160+ lbs. 
Over the last 1-2 years I’ve lost 30 lbs.

I don’t necessarily think anyone considered me “fat” but I was definitely out of shape. My nutrition was terrible, I wasn’t exercising, and didn’t spend any time improving ME.

I don’t miss my stomach hurting all the time, I don’t miss being hungry all the time, I don’t miss the bloating or the breakouts or never getting anything done. At my heaviest I was 160+ lbs. Over the last 1-2 years I’ve lost 30 lbs. I don’t necessarily think anyone considered me “fat” but I was definitely out of shape. My nutrition was terrible, I wasn’t exercising, and didn’t spend any time improving ME. Theres a new epidemic: “Drive Thru Syndrome”

Drive thrus are just a way of life for many people. Youre hungry, you dont want to wait for food to cook or put the effort in, you get something from the drive thru and 7 minutes later youre happy, full and on your merry way

Your desire was met almost instantly

So many of us, myself included, suffer from this Drive Thru Syndrome

From food delivered to your door in 20 minutes, 24/7 social connection, on demand movies, google answering any and all questions, phone calls, texting, video-chatting… so many things in todays world come INSTANTLY and with very little effort

which is weird because the things we REALLY want (ex: to achieve and sustain a healthy approach to eating) we don’t have the same instant reward that we’ve become so accustomed to

Which means that the work youre putting in now, the time and effort youre giving today, is not going to give you the results you want over night, in a week, 30, 60 or even 365 days!

Acquiring new skills and building habits TAKE TIME

When I first set out to learn this whole “macro tracking” thang I wanted so badly to just be able to DO IT

I didnt want to learn, I didnt want to fail, I just wanted it to already be apart of my lifestyle
.
But of course, it didnt work that way! It took months and a lot of mistakes with tracking my macros before I finally felt confident and comfortable with the skill!

But now, I am so gosh darn grateful that I decided to spend the time and make the mistakes that I did because all that I’ve learned will stay with me quite literally, FOR LIFE!

Dont let instant graifitcaion prevent you from achieving  your goals and making yourself PROUD later down the road.

People ask me this all the time. I say life bc I want to be healthy and strong and in good shape for anything life throws my way. .
.
For example, I’m very active all day long and I take a break to go workout and go back to my active day and take breaks between it to play with my kids. I like active play with them bc it’s healthy for me and them: chase them, toss them up and down, swing them around, push them around on a toy, play outside, etc. and the goal is to not get tired. .
.
If I’m in shape then I’m ready for anything. I don’t get tired and out of breath. I can move heavy objects myself. I just don’t want my health to be a reason why I can’t do something I want to do in my daily life or anything I come across. .

Look, I’ve been there. Trying workouts I’d see on Pinterest, Instagram, etc. thinking surly this would get me results like the girl in the picture. ⁣

What I was completely missing was ☝🏼 inconsistently using workouts from different programs wasn’t going to work and ✌🏼 these girls had been training for YEARS on programs that work for them. ⁣

It wasn’t until I started working out with a purpose and with an actual plan that I started seeing the results I thought I would get by program hoping 🥳⁣

One would say I am not very different from how I was 4 years ago. Here is what I think about when I see a picture from 2015 and a picture from 2019:

4 years ago I was too scared to speak my mind, I was allowing people to step over me and didn’t know how to establish boundaries, I also would weight myself every day and found pleasure in “competing” to see how little I could eat in a day (intake probably was 700-800 calories a day plus a couple hours of cardio a day, no weightlifting. Trust me when I say I used to pass out a LOT).

4 years later, I have learned that if I don’t go after what I want, no one will, I have learned that eating is okay and we should feed our bodies properly,  that if someone steps over my boundaries, it is okay to say so, and I have learned that there is no point in keeping toxic people in your life just for the sake of being nice.

It’s been some tough 4 years,  changes are still very recent in my head but it’s all about the journey and it’s ups and downs and I’m pretty okay with it. It’s all about patience and consistency. Mentally and physically.
